There's a hell of a lot of snobbery/moral highground staking on here from those fortunate enough to be able to do real life. However for those of us whose real life relationships, families and careers were forged before the internet, in the days when one kept such horrible perversions to oneself and considered them only abnormal character flaws, there is a genuine need to explore this side of our personalities without jeopardising the rest of our lives.

I know a headmistress of a primary school who is active on the scene, although she doesn't post photo's on sites she is still active on UK boards.

I think things are a bit looser in the UK, but it does depend on your position. There are many, many people involved in their local scene both in the UK and the US who have to guard their identity because of their career.

Just as there are many, many people who have families, children, and loved ones to protect, and when I say protect, I mean from the wrath of those who would paint them with the same 'perversion' brush.

Most of us have had to make some extremely tough choices to get where we are today, which is enjoying real time activities with partners, spouses, and/or playmates. That Complexia is incapable of making that choice is her issue, one she (?) obviously has problems with or she wouldn't have responded so vehemently.

I suppose she is not interested in hearing all the sad stories of people I knew when I was DJing online. They started out 'just online' and then fell in love, and had to make horrible choices that hurt people they really cared about.

Living a life of dishonesty is not something most people can do successfully. If you can, I feel sorry for you.

Some of us are fortunate enough to do real life BECAUSE we were honest with the people in our REAL lives that needed to know. Spouses need to know. Children do not need to know. Co-workers, do not need to know.

My advise, talk to your spouses and be honest. It's a helluva lot better than them finding out you've been sneaking around behind their back. Giving them the ammunition to potentially, really fuck up your REAL life.

Been there, done that, have the (word I cannot think of right now because my brain is still in bed) SOUVENIERS!!! (god damn that fucking hurt) to remind myself of it. I got bloody lucky. Not everyone does.

My previous partner had a higher profile job, I would bet the farm on it. When we played in public he always wore a hood. Always. You can easily protect your identity and still meet people and attend public functions.

There are a lot of people with STD's. Incurable ones. It makes it harder to find a partner but I know there are sites geared toward it and I know people with HSV, HIV, and Hep C who are happily married to a partner who doesn't have any of the above.

Here's the thing...if you want exactly what you want...then you really are going to have to pay for it. There HAS to be something in it for the other person, because giving YOU exactly what YOU want isn't going to actually be enough....especially when you claim you're a <koff koff> submissive.

I am new here, and though I understand your concern about real life, my thought would be that you are only postponing the inevitable. IF you do find someone online with whom you DO manage to forge a real connection....it won't be enough to be online only. It just won't survive without some real life real time. maybe not always sex, but touch, definitely, is crucial. You can't touch someone and sit face to face with them in real life over a screen. There are some things you just can't know about someone without being in the same room.

And just because you haven't had luck yet doesn't mean people aren't real. That is also something that can't really be 100% determined online. I haven't had "luck" yet eaither, but it doesn't mean others aren't real and it sure doesn't mean I'm not real. At least I think...therefore I am...or something.....

Dave, of course there are fakes on a site like this, but there are also some very real people. I like to think I am one of them, at least most days. Ignore my profile pic, it is part of an in-joke. I have in the past been involved in a long term (6 years), long distance, online/telephone relationship. His dominance was real, as was my submission, and so were the deep emotions on both sides. But several time zones, not to mention different countries, kept us from real life.

That said, there are a lot of people who met here and have become real life couples. Needles/Dr. Grey, littlewonder/Kana, and our most recent marriage, kit&Odeen. Anything is possible here. You just need to weed through the chaff. Good luck in your search.
