If you have been in a "relationship" for 4 yrs I would think you have already been in training?? To little info to go on. I am no expert by any means, but a training collar certainly means different things to different people.
I feel a little differently, I like the idea of training. Just as others have said, you really need to ask her what it means to her.

Could it possibly be, you are wanting a symbol, something tangible to make you feel content in the relationship?

We are not in a relationship. It's just only play.

If it is just play then the only reason I can see as a use for a collar is as a restraining point or for use with a leash. Otherwise, collars are usually a sign of ownership.

I'm guessing the "training collar" is because she wants to control who else he plays with.

I've worn collars during play because I like the way it looks, how it makes me feel. It can enhance play for me, however, I had no interest in being collared by anybody I've worn one for.

I What is a training collar? The reason I asked this question is because the Mistress of the group that i'm part of is very concerned about my health and well being when I play with her or with others. I don't have a D/s relationship with the Mistress. Also what kind of questions should I ask her about me getting collar?

Don't listen to these people....they don't know shit.

A training collar is a very stiff collar with two wheels, one on your left side, one on your right.

The wheels come off as you gain confidence.

Burns the fuck out of your knees....get some leather pads before you agree to anything.

I don't doubt that...but then we are getting into "relationship territory" [;)]
