The last time they were the fashion I had one in my office. Upon leaving for a welll earned holiday I took it home so it wouldn't get stolen or sexually abused. Stopping off for a few beers I decided to take it in for a couple with me & the foul mouthed furry fucker got banned from the pub for swearing. I'm still ashamed at what I taught the little shit.[:D]

Hehe, I had a coworker who had two in her office along with some beanie babies. Every time she went on business travel, she'd come back to it programmed to say more stuff and all her plush animals arranged in a bizarre sex scene. :D

i just remember they couldn't enter the workplace of my guardians or anywhere with sensitive information. Folks got really paranoid about those toys.

Yeah furbys are a definate no-no on government property!! Feeling really old that I was past target audience last time, & hate them enough to non-consentually beat them with a stick now.

I think the Fijit Newbies are more adorable than Furby. =p Furby is a Gizmo rip off. I don't like the full-size Fijits though - they're wierd. The Newbies are cute, though. And I'm really hoping to see Sing-a-ma-jigs again. I have no idea why I like those things so much, but I do. hehe ^_^

I've seen sing-a-ma-jigs in a store here a couple of weeks ago. Bizarre toy. I don't know about the new furbies, but the old ones could not just pick up words they 'hear'. They have a pre-set Furbish and English vocabulary and the more you play with them, the more of the vocabulary is unlocked and so it appears that it learns to speak English. It's not like a parrot which learns depending on what it hears.
