The same could be said for those that attacked Obama saying he was a lousy US Senator for Illinois but never lived here.... Know anyone like that?????

It makes no sense to me either. Shouldn't the birth certificate have the actual biological parents listed.

I can just imagine the anger from future genealogists if it was done any other way.

MA is one of many states where the spouse of the mother is legally the parent no matter what the biological origin of the child. Therefore refusing to let the legal parent's name appear on the BC will cause all kinds of legal issues in the here nd now and does nothing to change the struggles of future genealogists.

So even in the case of a sperm donor? Well, that doesn't seem right either. My personal opinion is that the birth certificate should reflect the biological mother and father (if known.)

And if that interferes with inheritance of property from the legal father?

I think that there are other avenues for that. County records for marriage and adoption, for one.

I was mostly thinking of medical backgrounds. Especially with the coming of electronic records. Not having good information on your family medical history has the potential for a lot of problems.

The people that I know who have adopted a child have complete medical histories of both parents, as much as can be found out. They do not have the names of the parents unless the parents want that information made available

At the moment willard is on the stump bragging about how well he worked with the Dem control in MA. But if you look past the BS and look at the record, in 4 years willard issued over 800 vetoes, and the Dems overrode the vetoes over 700 times.

Sounds like what the head of the education board said, with willard it's his way and no other. Which is great if you own the business and it's you money.

That explains things just fine to me thanks. I was pretty sure the assessment wasn't reflective of a Romney era real property owner. I think if you had, your opinion might be a little different.

Seven, yes but Obama (was) a lousey U.S. Senator.
How many votes did he miss?
I was in Mass (Woburn) for a few years of Romney's tour and I think he was "o.k."
Nothing special.
But, I think people in public office are the ,..."hired help" and should just,..."keep the factory running" I don't care or want to know what they ..."think."
They're not "leaders" they're there to do a job then gtfo!
God I can't stand that word,..."leader." Especially when it's applied to politicians.
Funny, I don't know anyone, man or woman who expresses a "need" to be lead by someone in the District of Columbia sitting behind a desk who they've never met and probably never will meet!
My message to Washington......
"Just keep the factory running and keep your, ..."hopes", "dreams" and "Visions" to yourself please!"
I think there should only be a "state of the union" address once every four years.
I think the president should only even (be) on t.v. maybe twice a year.
I don't care if they're married, if they have kids, hobbies, nothing personal. I just don't think we need to know any of that.
I think we should make it a law that anyone working in Washington wear gray suits only. Men and women.
I think we'd be MUCH better off hiring a Manager and having a president who's a figurehead, much like the monarchy in England.
