Nobody can accuse Camille of being NeoCon, Tea Party flack...

Camille Paglia:

"I want to use my vote to make a statement about my unhappiness with the Democratic Party and the direction it has taken"

"I have been revolted by the silence of the liberal mainstream media about Obama’s expansion of war — even beyond our pointless continued presence in Afghanistan"

"And what is the administration’s response to the murder of our ambassador? Nothing. Do we have a presidency or not? The ambassador’s journal was lying on the floor for CNN to find, and it took weeks for the FBI to get there and spend a day"

"So, the first reason I’m voting Green is the state of endless war. Second is the appalling rise in the military and domestic use of drones....My third reason for going Green is the creeping totalitarianism of Obamacare"

Don't know who she is, but she is certainly misinformed.   I am proud of her as an American, she is in the top 5% of misinformed at the very least.

Is she one of the Spice Girls, or a Kardashian or something?

She is one the moronic 'intelligentsia' that knows nothing but believe they are experts on everything. She's selling her new book on something stupid by running her mouth to get some press in Salon.

FatDomDaddy -> RE: Pags Goes Green (10/11/2012 5:55:59 PM)

She's a founding member of Salon and an indisputable liberal. She was a supporter of the President in 2008 and she put her money where her mouth (or pen as it is) was.

Funny how one of you pretends they never heard of her (Seeing that she is one of the few nationally known pundits who is very open about her "whatever it/this is" kinkster lifestyle, tends to makes that somewhat hard to believe.) while the other attacked her as a moron. Typical.

Her Wiki entry makes her sound a bit more complex than that simple label:

Some of her views have been characterized as conservative,[2] but Paglia characterizes herself as a Clinton Democrat and libertarian.[5][53] She opposes laws against prostitution, pornography, drugs, and abortion.[60] Paglia criticized Clinton for not resigning after the Monica Lewinsky scandal, which she says led to America being "blindsided by 9/11".[61] In the 2000 US presidential campaign she voted for the Green Party candidate Ralph Nader, "[because] I detest the arrogant, corrupt superstructure of the Democratic Party, with which I remain stubbornly registered".[61] In the 2004 U.S. presidential election, Paglia supported John Kerry; and in 2008, she supported Barack Obama.[62] In 2012 she supported Green Party candidate Jill Stein[63]

Paglia has criticized transsexualism as a current fashion and has claimed that transgender celebrities such as Chaz Bono are "mutilating"[64] their bodies and "are popping their pills and shooting themselves up with male hormone every day."[65]

Oh well...yes, I can see where voting Clinton, Nader, Kerry, Obama has you thinking she is conservative [8|]

So Clinton getting sucked off was directly responsible for the Bush administration ignoring six months of CIA warnings?

Like I said she's a moron.

Sounds like everyone in your world falls into one of two tidy boxes: "liberal (bad)" or "conservative (good)."

Humankind strikes me as a bit more nuanced than that, and Paglia exemplifies the folly of easy labels. A Sydney Morning Herald story about her said, "She declared she felt 'closer as a secular humanist to evangelicals than to the elite professors of universities'. Strange bedfellows for a lesbian libertarian, but she says this is because they are passionate about the Bible, its stories and its meaning, and directly engage with it."

Whatever Paglia is, she's not a garden-variety liberal.

According to my Dad:
She's the Rod McKuen of the Lesbian community.
Another one of Mitt's undecideds, gone for good.

No but she is an indisputable one...and wears the label proudly unlike many others who pretend they are not.

Typical.  The only reason that I know any pundit by name other than the McLauglin group is that they are loud, tasteless, uninformed, lying,  shiteating amoebas.  Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Beck, Boortz, Breitbart and so on.

I don't beat off to the shit like you do Fats.  I could give a fuck less what some fuckhead fantasizes at night when they think nobody is watching.

DomYngBlk -> RE: Pags Goes Green (10/12/2012 7:31:57 AM)

Wow, what a hag. Found one I wouldn't fuck....thanks

Close.
Sort of an academic version of Julie Burchill. One of the "post feminists" who were fashionable in the early '90s who tended to come across like Archie Bunker in drag.

Checked the source Wiki cites which states:
quote:

Most embarrassing vote: Bill Clinton the second time around. Because he did not honorably resign when the Lewinsky scandal broke and instead tied up the country and paralyzed the government for two years, leading directly to our blindsiding by 9/11.

Not very bloody likely IMHO.

An alt-feminist surely? One of them that praised "Madonner" (sic) and thought it OK to wear a bit of "lippy".

FR

Wow.... you guys sure hate Liberal's who aren't in Lock Step during elections!

Nope, Anti Wall Street, Anti War, Pro Green, Proud Liberal, Pro LGBT, Pro Lifestyle, Pro Urban, Pro Public Education.... all not good enough...She's a moron, hag and shiteating amoeba... such tolerance!

mnottertail -> RE: Pags Goes Green (10/12/2012 12:46:28 PM)

You have misquoted me completely, directly and contexually.  I have no tolerance for fucking imbeciles, why do you infer that as something less than worthy?

In my admittedly modest reading of and about her, I haven't come across a source where she identifies herself as a "liberal." Obviously, you have, or you wouldn't be saying she wears the label proudly. Mind sharing where you learned that?
