We also have machines that cannot discern whether a rock is alive or dead. We have machines that cannot tell that they are overflowing the wash. We have machines that cannot tell they are out of gas. Deus ex machina. But it is not a sentient god.

Before its passage through the "magic vagina time tunnel" (anyone playing the CM drinking game, take a shot!), the baby is completely contained within the body of his or her mother, with profound impacts on the woman's size, shape, hormones, health, and emotions. After birth, the baby is not. It's intriguing and probably more than a little revealing that your "pro-life" post reduces the mother to a "tunnel."
