Oh, Dotar, you might not like what I have to say . ... . . . & please note before plunging further that I'm a 'good sleeper' . . . . In part because I learned self-hypnosis at age 11 & have used it to good effect precisely to sleep ever since (as needed -- at first a lot, tapering . . . . ) The number one thing that really helps to keep my sleep patterns stable anymore is exercise . . . . If I get 'enough' in a day, alongside my usual excess of mental stimulation, I generally fall right asleep . . . . & if I don't get enough exercise, I get 'physical' restlessness . . . . . I follow all the usual guidelines, maintain a reasonably consistent bedtime, having wind-down 'rituals', typically sleep for something on the order of 7 1/2 hours, & so on . .. . Oh, except for naps. I do take naps, whenever I feel the need. Sometimes that can push my sleep schedule aside, a bit, but that's more longer naps; I tend to find that naps are most useful in the 20 minute to hour range . ... . Meditation. That's the other continuing force for helping me to feel rested. If my schedule is really out of whack & I cannot actually get to sleep, I can & do rely on simply meditating / resting for however long . . .. . My apologies if none of this is helpful; my ex had terrible insomnia, & it tormented him . . . . . He rarely slept more than 4 hours a night . . . . Hmmm, soooooooo, PBM & / or Dotar, have you ever been evaluated for sleep stuff? Do you have apnea? (Cuz treating the apnea can fix insomnia . . ..)
