Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't... Right now I think that the truth is that we probably are born once... but that we can connect with the thoughts of those that have lived before us. This would explain why there are hundreds of people that believe they are the reincarnation of Cleopatra. There could only be one reincarnation of her. However, if all of them could connect with her previous consciousness, then they could all feel like they were her at one time and therefore that would make them feel like they lived her life.
It would also explain why people have thoughts of several lives that existed at the same time, this would not be possible with reincarnation. It would again explain why people seem to connect again and again with people. If you meet someone and you are psychically inclined to connect to someone like that, then you could actually guide the person you met to meet someone that co-existed at the same time as someone you connected to.
This makes much more sense to me than reincarnation does. I do not really think that anyone would want to live again, I think they might want to stay around to watch someone and make certain they are okay, but to go through the pain of death a second time. I cannot imagine that. Or, as in my case, I would NOT want to take a chance that my life could be worse than the one I have lived. I don't deserve what has happened to me in this life and I have no desire to come back and take a chance that I will have to live something similar again. I would rather pass on to the next life and see what is on the other side and perhaps the next plain of existence is a higher step along the spiritual path. Perhaps it is another life, but one we cannot yet understand, and when we die from that one we move on to yet another plain that is even higher.
