Gaffes? Romney defending American freedoms is a gaffe?

I can't speak for Owner, of course, but he may be referring to Romney's press conference the morning after the attacks: "I think it’s a -- a -- a terrible course to -- for America to -- to stand in apology for our values." Romney repeated the "apology" assertion several times, though it may not withstand factual scrutiny. (Another factual review.)

Of course, Aylee may have a point, in that gaffes have an accidental quality, whereas Romney's "apology" assertion (initially emailed to reporters, then personally repeated several times at a press conference) seems quite deliberate, a cold-blooded strategy to use murdered Americans as political props.

Aylee
What part of...“The sacrifices that our troops and our diplomats make are obviously very different from the challenges that we face here domestically "

Really? Really?

You guys really think Obama is a better debater than Romney? The ONLY way Obama wins a debate with Mitt is if the moderators sandbag Mitt and softball Barack.

My local PBS station is showing Charlie Rose & David Brooks talking about this very issue as I type this. Both agree that if Romney sticks to the facts, he'll steamroll right over Obama.

Unfortunately, the show hasn't been uploaded as of yet... The newest show is from the 10th

You gotta be kidding. Obama's skill as an orator is well known and first made him a star at the 2004 DNC. Obama can SPEAK. Romney is known as being wooden as a speaker.

He's great when he has a teleprompter, in one on one interviews he's all um's and ah's... Sorry, Obama isn't really that good of a public speaker when he's caught off guard by a question he's not expecting.

Ah...no.

I heard him speak off the cuff multiple times in 2008 in various places/programs. He's funny, personable, quick, intelligent, engaging.

Romney is stiff and unimaginative.

Id love to see fact checkers right there, with a cattle prod attacked to each debators left testicle

Now that I'd stay home from work to watch, and I'm not even a sadist!!

“And obviously [our] hearts are broken for the families but I wanted to encourage those folks at the State Department that they were making a difference,” he said.
“The sacrifices that our troops and our diplomats make are obviously very different from the challenges that we face here domestically but like them, you guys are Americans who sense that we can do better than we’re doing….I’m just really proud of you,” he added
comparison??

I read this a couple of times and my understanding is he is differentiating between the troops AND diplomats vs the state department people that are NOT in harm's way.

Total crap,  when I was a freshman and he was running for senate he spoke at a round table at my university hosted by the political science faculty. No one had any notes and participants spoke at great length. He was sharp and very focused.
Enjoy the myth you perpetuate while you can, you have a few weeks before you watch your bubble burst and the candidate you love on really shaky ground presentation-wise.

Well, there's a Pearson 43 with my name on it (literally, it's my dad's boat) and this indian summer is just too good to waste. I'm going sailing. Tah tah.

Can you tone it down, you might give him a hard-on.
