Ok, I am confused.

I think that everyone traditionally knows that a red light means a Whore House or that Sex is for sale. However tonight coming home I saw a Bright Green Porch light.

GREEN???

What does this mean?? I have seen claims that its for Marijuana, Swingers, and safe havens for Run A Ways.

Does anyone know?

Also when I come home every night I see a BLUE porch light down in the Olympia District of town. Olympia is usually College students and or what's left of the Textile Mill workers that used to live in the area.

Um, I've seen all different colors of porch lights on people's houses. I don't think they necessarily mean anything. If colors were such consistent and widely understood symbols, then people who used them would be doing nothing more than marking themselves as criminals. Why not just put up a banner that says "Illegal activities transpiring inside. Probable cause for search warrant. Come on in."

I used to have a blue porch light. Didn't mean anything other than I liked it.

Maybe they're Great Gatsby fans.

at Halloween time I always had an orange porch light. At Christmas I had a green or blue one depending on which lights I was using outside. In the summer, it was a bright yellow one.

They don't mean anything. This is one of those times when I would say get your head out of the gutter. Not everything means something taboo.

When I was younger my Mom always had a light yellow porch light and it was awesome for showing people where to drop you off when catching a ride home from a game or something. Or telling a new date which house to pick you up at.

A lot of that "certain lights for certain things" is old wives tales.

Have you ever heard the one that "A pair of tennis shoes thrown over a powerline/phoneline = a drug house"?

I had someone who swore by that until I pointed out that there were 2 in front of my house and all it means is that I live across from a Jr High school.

It means they just went to Lowes or Home Depot and saw all the new cool bulbs that aren't sold at the grocery store.

I remember being in Home Depot once just to pick up some lightbulbs since I was in the area anywhere and I was amazed at all the different types they had....all different colors, fun shapes. Sometimes I like little kitschy things just to have a little fun in life.

Ssshhh...don't tell Master though. He already laughs at me and the stuff I buy sometimes just to feel kinda like a kid again

Growing up, we had neighbors with "porch" lights (though they had no porch) on either side of the front door. At Christmas, they put a red bulb in one and a green bulb in the other, and that was it four their outdoor decorating. I always thought that was pretty cool in understated way.

Perhaps colored lights do not attract insects like white lights.

A green light means that it's a top secret CIA hideout. But I'm not allowed to tell anyone that.

That's primarily yellow lights. If you go into a hardware store, they will have yellow lights marked as bug lights.
