Are your stitches still in Lucifyre? Benadryl makes an anti-itch stick, and there is another one called After Bite. You might try one of them along the suture lones, but as was previously mentioned, itiching is good. It is a sign of healing.

They're supposed to be dissolving...but I can still smell the mediciny smell they give off. Yet another bonus to this damned surgery...my sense of smell went into overdrive too.
I've got some benedryl pills, and I took one as soon as I saw MDA's post last night, it helped a little bit.

Probably another week of torture and then all will be well.

A few weeks ago I had horrible mosquito bites, to the point that I had to go the doctor. The dermatologist said benadryl is not good enough for itching, she gave some anti depressant, no kidding, to take for only 10 days, and I went from tearing my hair out over the bites to no itch at all.

Damn, I cannot remember the name, but it was a strange name, I think a trycyclic? I will try and find out for you.

I GOT IT!! Doxepin. Just take for a short time and voila, no more itching.

I'd recommend a topical.
To many different pills and it can be a bit
much for your system, trust me I been
there throwing up till your just reaching
up bile isn't fun.

I'm assuming your on a few already post op.

sexyred1: actually I got the grocery store version of the benedryl and it seems to be helping. The itching isn't driving me as crazy tonight as it was last night.

ARIES: I was on a ton of meds...the antibiotics were the worst, they made me all pukey. BUt I'm done with them and at least that's gone.
Only things I am left taking are 1 pain med at night ifI need it instead of 2 every 4 hours, a sleeping pill if I need it and some anti swelling meds 3x a day plus the benedryl. So, yes, I was taking a lot...now I'm 2 weeks post op and for the most part off most of them.

I'm feeling like shit tonight and I did take a pain med because of the swelling I caused yesterday. But the two days prior I didn't need them at all.
