I think all home systems are IPLs (intense pulsed light) which don't work nearly as well as lasers. Not all professional machines are created equal either (some will even use IPLs) and the skill of the technician matters too so doing some research on your options is generally worth it. Everyone is generally going to offer some big discounts when you approach them for a consultation although 100 would probably be hard to beat. Granted, if you're just getting your chin done it really shouldn't cost too much. It cost me a little under 2k for 6 treatments of my entire chest, stomach, and face (male beard/neck).

Ok, here are the links I promised.

No guarantees obviously, seeing that I haven't tried any of these myself.
From the research I've done, the main difference between a $1000 laser and a $6000 is the strength of the pulse, as well as the amount of times the laser can be recharged. Cheaper lasers have a drastically shorter lifespan, and may or may not need some more applications, which I personally never considered an issue for home use, because you'd never use it often enough for the laser to run out in your lifespan, and the little extra applications it may take will not take up as much time as having to go to a salon to get this done.

The difference between these and the crap they actually market for home use is that these are easily capable of producing 3rd degree burns, so be careful if you get one!

If you do end up buying one, I'd much appreciate if you'd let me know how it goes. I've been dying to get one of these, but have never had the spare cash laying around to risk on something that I wasn't 100% sure would work. If you risk it and give me a positive review, I'm definitely getting one.

OH! My goodness Ullrs! Thank you for all that info...that's gonna keep me busy for quite awhile.

Now I just need to figure out which one I want and convince Mr to let me spend the money on it hehe.
