The passing of one of the best guest stars ever.

William Windom (also well known to fans of Murder, She Wrote) played Commodore Decker, a starship commander who loses his entire crew. His portrayal of a man with a death wish, driven by guilt, was truly memorable.

Video.

I also wanted to post a video of the scene where Decker sacrifices himself... but can't seem to find one. All I can find is "remastered" and "enhanced" bullshit by "fans" who can't seem to leave well enough alone. If anyone knows of a clean, that is, original, clip... please post it.

I am one of those folks that grew up enjoying the original Star Trek series, and cared not a whit for what followed, though very many others did. I'm kind of old school that way. Give me the original, and not remakes or sequels. They never have the same energy as the first. I'm the same way about music. I want to hear Billy Joel, Elton John, etc., twenty years later, singing their songs exactly the same way they originally did, 'cause that's how/when/where I got my greatest experience and thrills from.

But, that's just me. Old foggy!

There is no other Star Trek other than the original.

Much as I enjoy Billy Joel ... DS9 mops the floor with TOS.

That said, Mr. Windom did a good job.

The only picking up Voyager did was the credits at the end of the last episode, letting one know there fortunately wouldn't be more...

Voyager was a bad joke of a series, but you have to admit their theme song was good. Especially when you think of the next series, and its music. :/

It's probably from the same folks that came up with "The Devil Wears Nada".

If you want some funny stuff, follow George Takei on Facebook.

You dis the cinematic quality of The Devil Wears Nada? I suppose you also dislike the classics "Spider Babe" or "Bat Babe, The Dark Nightie"? Or all the various films with bikini in the name. Bikini Pirates, Agents from Bikini, etc.

That Ohura pic could be from Star Trek XXX. Just saw it listed on a adult parody site.

As someone who was madly in lust with Nichelle Nichols from the age of about 5, I can tell you that this photo is not her.

It is pretty hot, though.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

This is going to be one of those times when I disagree with you, Aswad.. not something that comes up very often to be sure!

I don't even consider DS9 to be part of the Trek franchise. Star Stationary, maybe.. but Trek? No.. they didn't trek anywhere and a stable worm hole just didn't cut it for me after everything we learned from the 60's about worm holes from Star Trek. Bringing in the Defiant later on didn't cut it either. Enterprise or bust!

Sisko is no Hawk and while a great source of eye candy, the inability to act left me cold. Now, Shatner can't act (or couldn't during TOS) but he has a charm that can't be denied. Sisko's character never had that charm nor did he have the stage presence of Stewart who actually can act!

In any event, I'll take 1701 over The Defiant 7 days a week and 1701E over any other ship out there..

.. that said, hell, beam me onto a garbage scow (with a nod to the Tribbles!) and I'd be happy shoveling space debris for a job as long as it's in space. lol

Live long and Prosper!
