LadyPact -> Holy Fucking Shit - The Ring (8/21/2012 12:02:29 AM)

For those who were following My NE3 travels, I've mentioned that we stayed at the home of a fellow kinkster. I never got to meet this gal in person. Her roommate was our host.

During that trip, much to My disappointment, I lost the ring that MP gave Me for our tenth anniversary. Now, I'm not one who has to be bought shinny things, but this one was kind of important to Me. It was two hearts joined together with our birthstones and inscribed with our names. It was kind of loose on My finger, but I had worn it anyway. Somewhere, it had slipped off.

The home owner wrote Me a message tonight saying, "guess what I found?"

Yes. Two months later. Yes. Even though she didn't have to.

It's very rare that the goodness of a person's heart surprises Me, but she did.

Oh my God, that is amazing. I am so happy she found it. Since I don't or haven't got to own many new, shiny things one of my biggest worries is damaging or losing them.

[sm=hearts.gif]Aw, I'm happy to hear about this, LP. Congrats on getting the ring back after all that time of it being lost.

My fingers shrink through the day and ones that start off on my (smaller) left hand fingers end up on my right by the end of the night. Long time ago I had a ring I took to a jeweler cuz it was a bit too large (I bought it for a different finger then years later wanted it on a smaller finger, lol), and he put some kind of clear thing inside it that made it smaller. I liked that better than with another ring, where there was a small metal bar added inside to smallersize it. Good luck with not losing the ring again.

Yipee-aye-a!

I'm in a cowboy kinda mood.

Well...maybe not.

Congrats! I can only imagine how you feel to have something back that holds such sentimental value for you. :)

I'm so happy for you.

well done her, however.....
Mr Pessimist says....
is this what kinksters are reduced to? Cheering an act that is clearly the right thing to do?
Having found the ring, what was this person going to do with it? wear it? take it to a pawn shop? throw it in the bin?
No, of course they were going to return it.
It is the right thing to do, it is the only thing to do.
It is rather sad that the OP thinks it's "very rare" for this kind of thing to happen.
Is it that rare for people to give a shit about other peoples treasured possesions?
I hope not

Why would they take the ring to a "porn" shop? To trade it in for a few trashy DVDs? [:D]

mnottertail -> RE: Holy Fucking Shit - The Ring (8/21/2012 4:35:26 PM)

They tired of it and wanted to see Ring 2?

needlesandpins -> RE: Holy Fucking Shit - The Ring (8/21/2012 4:44:06 PM)

i'm glad you got your ring back LP. i have an opal and diamond ring 'missing' that is an 18th birthday present from my grandparents, and godmother. i have a suspicion as to where it is, but i doubt the person who has it is as good as your host.

It's not so much that either of us are kinksters. I added that detail because the ring had been lost in Anchorage, which is some distance from where I live. That was a five day trip to another city and we weren't sure exactly where the ring had been lost. It could have been where we were staying, the presenter's pot luck, at the location of the event, or for all I knew dropped outside. The odds of the ring being found at all, I would think, would be pretty high up there.

It would be interesting to know how many women have lost a piece of jewelery somewhere besides their home and got it back two months later.
