That island used to be part of the mainland. They drove the car onto it, then dislodged that piece of land from the mainland and towed it out to sea, and now it is an island.

It's more than half-a-dozen paces.
That's waay too far to be walking.
I would certainly want something motorised to reach the boat dock.
And if the weather is inclement, a motorbike wouldn't be the appropriate mode of transport.
I would wanna stay dry and warm.

That car is the perfect solution.... and that's why! [:D]
