Well, let's see. There are a few things that must be attended to first.

Food. You are guaranteed to lose weight in my house.

Well I registered some days ago at 4 cooking courses at our VHS (its a sort of evening school thing, mainly for adults and not so expensive prices...) to attend courses which interest me...like...cooking different meals with pumpkin or doing pralines myself....such stuff...helps me a bit to get a bit more out in my new surroundings here and to enhance my skills...

after all...depending on how those pralines will work out they will be handy as xmas-givings to my neighbourhood

or maybe even colleagues (a common practice here to give your neighbours a card or if you like them more, even a little treat....one neighbour, she passed away some years ago, gave mum and me a knitted pair of socks some years ago....which was touching as this was not expected at all

)...

Don't know how it is in your country, but over here a colleague decided to foster kids...so she has them for a few days during the month...during my student placement I worked with foster parents who decided to foster children with disabilities to give their mothers a break at times...

I haven't. The ex & I split well over 2 years ago & I got my own place. The silence was painful then & it still is every time my kid goes back to his Mum's.

He puts his teddy bear in my bed before he leaves so I can at least smell the little sod.

Of course I never encourage this.

It takes a while to adjust to an empty nest. As others have realized, it doesn't happen overnight. But even when they move away, they still need you, call, text & email. I enjoy my freedom because when my kids were home I was completely devoted to them and their needs, plus a full-time job.
