OMG smartsub10 That link reminded me of a dip I took in a French river a few weeks ago. The water was so clear, the tumble stones on the bottom were white and the water moved slowly and invitingly. As I paddled, hip deep through the water I called out to Steve, 'This is the life! He called back, 'What is that on your belly?' I looked down to see a leach latched on and sucking my blood. I suddenly became this crazy screaming person who couldn't get away from that place quickly enough!

You don't even want to get into parasitology and all the molds and fungi that can grow in and on the human body. You know that clear mountain stream up in the high country where you were hiking? Giardia dies when the water gets above 50 degrees for any length of time. Yep, Mother Nature is out to get ya!
