ORIGINAL: MrBukani Okay get rid of all the politicians and then what? Rich people controlled the world long before the word politician existed. Have to disagree here. We need politicians just like we need banks and companies. What you are talkin about now, is kinda of an anarcho capitalism. Trust me that's the worst. Then the rich Man will rule again. We need a political system that has better control and less inbreeding, less corporate ties. That goes for all democracies. Question is how will we accomplish it. That's why we need to come up with new models for just about anything. Based on a social free market economy. And social as in our equal rights described in any constitution should be protected better. Only radical brainstorming will get us out the prison we created in our minds. edit: correction it is not certain we will always need banks. But for now in the transition to the future we do. No, no, no, I am not an anarchist! lol.. No, thats not what I meant.. I meant get rid of all the US politicians and start over.. it needs a total overhaul, change the system so that votes and the will of the people actually mean something.. change it so that politicians cant be bought by the greedy bitches and bastards.. In the US, it costs so much to get elected, before a politician even wins he/she has already sold their soul for the campaign contributions needed to win.. and it takes a long time... we have been hearing about this election in Nov since the day after Obama was elected!.. compare that to Canada, the next election is not a determined date (like the US) but once an election is called, it lasts no longer than 2 months from start to finish.. so it costs a lot less.. and (unless this has changed recently), its taxpayers that pay about 80% of the parties election costs/contributions.. each party gets a certain amount per vote.. that makes politicians more beholding to the voters to do what the voters want.. there are limitations on private contributions also so its harder to buy a politician there.. and there are many political parties there, it isnt just a 2 party system like the US.. I am not saying Canada has a perfect system but its a hell of a lot fairer than the US system, imo.. Unfortunately the US will limp along with the system they have and imo spiral downward.. hmmm.. a world without banks, huh? (TJ looks dreamily off in the distance to an imaginary place)... I would really love to see that! Banks have been hell to deal with since I got here (to the US).. Don't get me started on that...
