I'll be the first to say that I think the female scammer profiles are better done than the males.

I was recently contacted by one that said he a 5'3", 144lb, Native American from New York. (FYI, he didn't know which tribe he was from)

He loves Raves, but only tolerates clubbing. (Raves are a giant dance club)
He tolerates SCA, but dislikes Renaissance Fairs. (SCA is a Renaissance re-enactment group)
He tolerates volunteerism. (Seriously, you only tolerate volunteering to do good works?)
He loves antiques, is curious about flea markets, but dislikes garage sales. (Apparently, he doesn't want to find antiques...)
He's an expert gambler, but hates it. (I'm still trying to quantify this one)

I do find it funny that in their effort to try to appear real, they end up proving that they don't know what those words mean. Some get downright comical.

At least this one went away when I told him to. The rest usually try to arm wrestle you into going onto Yahoo Messenger.

I get great giggles out of the "dom you now" profiles where they start out calling you a worthless slut (if I'm worthless, why do you want to own me?) or the ones who are "give me money now you worthless paypig" and show the duck lips and the middle fingers.

I went into motherly mode with a 50lb 6' guy from NY, FL. (OK, I'm originally from NY so I'm familiar with most of the areas, and I currently reside in Fla.)
He was listed as African American, his pic was from an issue of GQ courtesy of tineye, and rather Nordic looking.

After reading a "sob story" message, I replied with full on "you poor boy, you're so malnourished, come here now & let me feed you. I'll make chicken soup so it's easier on your digestion."

I asked him where in NY, Fl he lived. I inquired whether it was Boca Brooklyn, or Staten Lauderdale. I told him I was going to send my son to fetch his starved self so I could fatten him back up, no one should go hungry. After that he just stopped replying. Must have starved to death.

I have seen a few insist on using Teamview software. This appears to be like PC anywhere allowing full access remotely. Not too bright if someone actually allows that.

Oside, I can explain one of those points ... maybe.

I play a lot of online poker (even before the advent of Texas Hold 'Em, I used to play a lot of 7 card on Yahell Games). I like to get involved in weekly (or bi-weekly), friendly poker games (we limit the amount people can lose and we have a time after which anyone that wants to leave can't be bitched at for "running off with peoples' money).

However, when I was very young, I was exposed to some of the ugly sights of gambling and I actually detest it. Oh, I could whoop your ass at poker but, I will not gamble (up to and including not being willing to spend much time even walking THROUGH a casino).

I would hazard a guess that someone who is "expert" at gambling but hates it might be a recovering compulsive gambler.

I kinda like the "superior so give me all your money" types, especially if their spelling is seriously poor - oh well, maybe they are so dominant that even a language has to bow to their rules...

I doubt that the males could be worse. I've had some that were mere lists of what foods they could cook, and what sex they had done. My all time prize had a sex change - it started off female and somewhere got confused and talked about cock size and became male.

Okay, but this person thinks that Native American means born in America rather than what it actually means, so chances are this person is from a country where English is not the first language and more likely misunderstands what the word gambling means.

I really don't get many scammers anymore. Of course now that I have said this, they will come pouring in. But when I did, it's usually the guys pretending to be female slaves. I like trolling them when I find out they are scammers.

I get pretty much all guys...and all except a very few say they're "Native American". They get very confused when you ask which tribe they're from. They pretty much try anything to get me to go on Yahoo. I'm not sure why that's the goal, whether they upload a virus or think it will prompt me to send them money or what.

Some of them are very entertaining and not just the scanners but the generic fake profiles.

I love the ones with improbable photos.
A nice respectable looking lady in what
looks like a photo taken at a wedding or
something. Then the profile talks about
her husband/Dom is lending her out now,
she will relocate and needs only a small
closet to live in. Ands she's into everything
from gangbangs to diapers.

The confusion about what Native American
means is one of the biggest tells.
And they never think to put opera as
a hard limit. That seems to be the most
common hard limit amongst Americans.

You can't really report them for communication that occurs off-site. They can't really upload a virus unless you click on a link that they send or allow them to send you a file.

I will be sure to note it down in my "how not to get scammed" book.

Yeah, but if someone is dumb enough to follow them to Yahoo, they might be dumb enough to think the scammer is sending a picture and accept it.

If I get a fake, it's mostly fake females. Aka, men pretending to be women.

They make it so obvious. I don't know a single female that gives a one word answer for every single question.
