Does being poor, disenfranchised, mentally ill, and NOT having a good lawyer, make you a sitting duck FOR the death penalty? Let's see, the rich rarely get the death penalty, the criminally insane rarely get the death penalty. Who the hell TENDS to get the death penalty is the question? ACLU- Death Penalty 101 hummmmmmmm

ACLU- Death Penalty 101 hummmmmmmm I believe (as I have previously said) that if someone is truly insane (mentally ill), they can't possibly be held properly accountable (invocation of the death penalty) for their actions. I do believe that these cases are rare. Also, as I've said; I don't believe that being a mass-murdering fuckhead is proof that someone is insane (or non-compis mentis, if you prefer the legal term). Unfortunately, I think there have been examples of mass murderers who are not so mentally incumbered as to not be able to form the requisite intent to murder. Having said all of that ... someone who has the "courage" to murder a bunch of people but then wants to hide behind an insanity plea is so beneath consideration that killing is too good for 'em but, it's all we've got. The *only* part of the OT that holds any truth for me is: "an eye for an eye". Kill 'em all. Peace and comfort, Michael (Yes, I notice the dichotomy of the last sentence and my closing)
