I would suggest that you get a copy of the KJV of the bible and try reading just the words in red text. You'll find that those words are definitely not the adjectives you use. Now, is that a matter of a bunch of people, constructing a very spiritual ideal and making it a real person? I don't know but, I do know that my reading of those words have found them to be open, loving, kind, caring, and understanding. In my opinion any god who gives us a "choice" between spending eternity screaming in agonizing pain (a choice made under duress is no choice at all) or praising him over how wonderful he is, is a sadistic, narcissistic prick. It basically amounts to an abusive parent, beating their child while screaming "Love me! Love me!" I refuse to believe that God is a narcissistic, sadistic prick. I consider myself an agnostic. There may well be a intelligent, creative awareness (beyond our current ability to perceive or comprehend) at the heart of the mystery of existence. If so then this God's (for lack of a better word) attitude toward us would best be described as indifferent. I suppose, if you wanted to put a positive spin on it, you could say that God is wise enough to know that we need to be left alone for a while... work things out on our own. It's the only way we'll learn.
