No, the point is, you believe that people should run and hide rather than defend themselves because a criminal intent on doing you harm has the right.
If someone is intent on doing me harm and it is possible for me to get away from him that is obviously the thingto do. The other alternative, engaging in violence, could easily end up with me dead or seriously injured. Only if I had no reasonable means of ecape would using violence by the rational choice, if preserving my life and limbs was my priority.
