Here is an interesting query...
If a M/s couple agree that they will have a set time together ie a contract for x amount of time, and the Dominant starts wanting the relationship to last more than that time knowing there is no possible way it will happen should the Dominant end the contract early to avoid having their feelings hurt later on or should the Dominant stick to the origional negotiated time and just enjoy the moments T/they have remaining with their submissive and deal with the pain of losing them later?

Stick to the original agreement and if nothing can be worked out to make it last, then say farewell when its over and move on.

I whole-hearted agree with Lashra. Stick with the contract. They knew it wasn't going to last in the first place.

A moral and emotional dilemma. I've never been in the situation but if I found myself getting too involved while knowing the relationship has been agreed to end at a certain point, I think I would suggest the relationship end early. I doubt the other person would want to keep the relationship going if the other person was getting altogether too serious and emotional volitility was knowingly building up.

scratchingpost,

At first, I answered the same as others: stick to your word. However, if the feeling is mutual between the two parties, I see no reason why to continue the contract. If, however, the feelings are one-sided, one should keep one's word...and consider a shorter contract next time, or a clause that, if the contract isn't progressing in a satisfactory manner, it can be broken.
