LadyPact -> I could have been Zimmerman (7/19/2012 12:27:01 AM)

I grew up in a very small town. Kind of like what you would think about Mayberry. We had two stop lights on main street. When I was a kid, they didn't call the cops when I was out on a swing set passed curfew. They called My dad.

We didn't have an official neighborhood watch. We didn't need it.

However, when we saw somebody that wasn't from our neighborhood, yeah, we kind of watched.

It drives Me nuts that some people don't get this.

Open discussion.

Buckle your seat belts, it is going to be a bumpy ride- Margot Fantaine, All About Eve c. 1950, Bette Davis staring.

At any rate Lady Pact, I am sure this will get interesting quickly.

I raise my glass, kick off my stilettos and wait.....

Yep and if you didn't people thought there was something wrong with you, I remember.

I stand correct- Bette Davis played MARGO CHANNING! I hate it when I am wrong. Sorry to all the movie buffs out there!

LadyPact -> RE: I could have been Zimmerman (7/19/2012 12:49:28 AM)

When I grew up, I really was this small town girl.

Everybody knew everybody.

When I wanted to hang out with My friends, 9:05 wasn't the same thing as 9 O'clock.

Neighbors would call your Dad, and that was holy hell.

So why didn't this happen?

Politesub53 -> RE: I could have been Zimmerman (7/19/2012 2:19:55 AM)

Even in a big city like London, people would keep an eye on strangers. In fact most areas have had a neighbourhood warch for the last two decades.

I cant recall one instance like the Zimmerman case, so doing the neigbourly thing hardly makes someone like Zimmerman.

Times change LadyP, like you say 9 pm MEANT 9 pm when I was a kid. Infact back then people left the door key on a string, so anyone could reach in through the letter box and let themselves in. I would also do that and stick the kettle on when visiting any of my relatives and that was in the inner city. Sadly those times have long since past.

LadyPact -> RE: I could have been Zimmerman (7/19/2012 2:27:49 AM)

We never had anything like Zimmernan.
He wasn't entirely a bad guy.

Kind of this unspoken rule, watching out for other people's children.

Edwynn -> RE: I could have been Zimmerman (7/19/2012 2:40:40 AM)

In any small town I grew up in, some wacko in a red sweatshirt following and aggressively pursuing a person merely walking home from the store would have gotten the police called on him by several neighbors.

That's the neighborhood watch, old style.

Nosathro -> RE: I could have been Zimmerman (7/19/2012 4:00:08 AM)

Yep and this was all Gods plan. I am reminded of an incident where two people were looking at a house for sale, this happen in a small town in Georgia. As they were looking at the property the neighbors showed up with guns accused the the couple of trying break into the house. The couple was arrested, charged but the new a good lawyer in Atlanta, sued the pants off everybody, good for them. They did not buy the house either, didn't like the neigborhood. Glad I am a Pagan.

Not entirely bad? What is your definition of entirely bad then? He shot a kid whom I am laying odds he knew but did it anyway. According to him......he wouldn't change a thing. Thats pretty bad....

I totally agree with you. Let me see, he had a My Space that he used to talk about how he hated Espanics, Bullied co-workers, tried to get co-worker to give him money, mocked co-workers, then there is this thing about lieing to a Judge, she is right, he really not that bad.[:D]

Owner59 -> RE: I could have been Zimmerman (7/19/2012 4:23:55 AM)

"According to him......he wouldn't change a thing."

DomYngBlk -> RE: I could have been Zimmerman (7/19/2012 4:26:04 AM)

Yeah.....apologist sean was the questioner

Owner59 -> RE: I could have been Zimmerman (7/19/2012 4:29:39 AM)

What a cunt.......hanity has been advising/helping him from the start.

DomYngBlk -> RE: I could have been Zimmerman (7/19/2012 4:32:05 AM)

Alledgedly the interview was for him to raise funds for his defense from other racists.

mons -> RE: I could have been Zimmerman (7/19/2012 4:32:54 AM)

LadyPact

I grew you when it was a good place to live and we did not lock our doors!
Oh yes if my father said 6pm in the house it was in there right now, there is a
saying "it takes a village to rest a child"

This is what we had, if you did something, they would walk to my door and tell my mom and then
my father when he came home from work! Everyone watch out for the children everyone children!

We had a man who in front of us touch a child we told our parents they called the police that man
was gone and never returned it was safe, and nice!

But the statement and correct me if I am wrong but you said "Zimmerman is not a entirely bad guy!"

He is a bad person following when he was told to stay in his car, enough said there! Then he is
accuse of raping, molesting his cousin!

I do believe it is true, and it is not because he shoot someone, none of what happen is related to this!
But I have worked with many abuse victim's! The shame of having to come forward and tell this story is
unbearably hard PTS is part of the harm that has been done to this person!

Coming forward is the hardest part and to face this person again, I know it is so scary!

But back to how it use to be no one just let someone come to the places they live in and just run crazy!
We had people who watch out for others, took the time to see if that man sitting in a car and was a stranger "what did he want"!

But times have changed indeed, you can not tell someone about their children misdeed they will want to fight with words but it not done
anymore!

Youtube is full with vidoe of parents fighting one another over kids sports, or at baseball games, hurting innocence people for no
reason but just to fight, I can not stand drinking and when people drink they act crazy, just because , that is all!

The only good thing now is when someone drinks and drive or text and drinks, if they kill someone they are sent up for sometime!
There are many other good things also, it is also where you live too! I am blessed and made sure my children grew up in the same safe place
and went to excellent schools with great teachers!!! It makes a big difference!

Good parenting skills that are passed down from our mother and father, is so important! My mom taught me well!

best to all
mons

Owner59 -> RE: I could have been Zimmerman (7/19/2012 4:35:31 AM)

Did fuck`n little-dick hanity mention the new black panthers?

An ugly, racebaiting non issue pushed by the rightie whackos.... (rich) ?

DomYngBlk -> RE: I could have been Zimmerman (7/19/2012 4:37:25 AM)

Didn't see all of it. Was watching MSNBC late and they were showing clips....

Moonhead -> RE: I could have been Zimmerman (7/19/2012 4:37:59 AM)

As mons says, is following somebody about, picking a fight with them, and then shooting them when you start losing an example of small town values in action, if the small town in question isn't the small town in one of those David Lynch films?
