Leather Kilts... Why? Something I just never understood. Kilts are awesome, I love Kilts, when you wear your family Kilt you have a feeling of invincibility run through you. All your history, all your reputation embodied in what you are wearing and you feel your actions must live up to that while wearing it. But that's because of the association of tartan. So why leather Kilts? Just something I'm curious about after someone brought it up in the outfits thread...

My ancestor, the crazyass Romans wore them! And if I recall....THEY DID PRECIOUS LITTLE GOOD. Perhaps that 'new car smell'?[;)]

Leather "kilts" may fulfill a desire to be hot and sweaty but allowing for some circulation, perhaps, and adds to any spanking scenario. Besides, there may not be that much in the way of variety of BDSM fashion for men. I wouldn't call them kilts though, rather pleated leather skirts.

I'd have to think the combination of the smell of leather and the easy access would be 'why' enough. (Yeah, cause you guys didn't know I was a perv in the first place.)

The Romans were badass, I almost regret that they could never "civilize" us Scots Thanks for they comments, I kinda see what you mean. I guess I'm looking at it the wrong way (and mildly biased in my love of tartan)

it's for the same reason as we wear anything. just for the feel, smell, look, etc my playmate tried on a leather kilt when we went window shopping and he looked bloody great in it. if i'd had the cash at the time i'd have bought it for him. he does have a rubber one and looks wonderful in it. each to there own really. sentiment isn't always part of why we wear things. needles

Possibly because it's nice to let our bits swing freely as nature intended rather than being closeted in lycra mix.

Master and I went to a play party a few weeks ago and I swear almost every single dude there was wearing a kilt. I just don't get it. Is this the replacement of leather chaps or something?
