Rush is a conservative blatherer. Mitt isn't even close to conservative enough for him.

It's playing to what's left of his dying audience. In November, they'll line up to vote for Mitt.

Dying Audience ? Rush is still the most listened to radio station in the country. He is on more than 600 stations. No one even comes close. ps. the boycotts didn't work...

Look at his audience over time. Yes, dying. The real numbers, not the ones Rush claims but can't support.

In fact, literally--older white males.

"Not ready for prime time..."

I must be in the twilight zone because I happen to agree with Rush for once.

That's because his listeners cant handle that hi tech thing called...TV.

If they could, Jersey Shore would have a helluva lot more viewers.

Trawling through the comments on the Huffpo site, I came across this gem:

If Rush wasn't just a clown-show, he'd have made the leap to satellite, where people PAY to listen to you instead of Rush having to give away the show for free to the AM stations that are left.

You do realize, that unlike Howard Stern who gets paid to be on the air, Rush has to give the show away for free, right?

I mean, who the fuck listens to the radio anymore? People who can't afford a satellite subscription? People who can't afford to buy music through iTunes? People who can't afford a car new enough to have a FM radio?

As a matter of fact, only a stopped clock is right twice a day.
If you're going to quote from classic films, get the quotations right, eh?

Mark Twain once wrote, "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated."

Certain leftists live in their delusions...

The New York Times is definitely dying, along with every other far left rag and mag. CNN audiences are measured in the thousands these days, and MSNBC is a joke.

But Limbaugh, and FOX, and Drudge et al? They are on fire

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Both The Rush Limbaugh Shaw and The Shawn Hannity Show charge local stations that carry the shows. The yearly carriage fee for Limbaugh is quite high.

And what other 'give backs' to offset that expense are in the contract? For instance, Premier's ad spots are often ON PAPER exchanged to offset that. It gives the accountants something to play with, but the net result is that if you have a radio station, you can carry their shit for free, and you end up keeping the revenue from YOUR ad time.

But hey, you just look at the line-items in the deal which support your charming beliefs.

You are wrong again.

Most of Premier's programming is barter based, Limbaugh's and Hannity's shows are not. Radio stations write great big checks to carry and retain those shows.

In Radioland a "great big cheque" won't even pay for the green room rider on the Tonight show...
