ORIGINAL: LadyPact I am very much in agreement with the thread title. Personally, I couldn't see him being indited. Why spend the money to prosecute him when it would be so unlikely that they would ever get a conviction? Yeah, I know the letter of the law, etc, but does anyone think they could come up with twelve people that would send the guy to jail? I have heard people say he never should have gone to the grand jury at all. This happened in Texas. Texas has one of the most liberal applications of "Castle Law," basically laws that allow you to protect home, property, self and others from harm. His actions fell under protection of Castle Law in Texas. it's legal in Texas to kill a tresspasser on your property. The ability to use deadly force to protect someone from the active commission of a sexual crime is very clearly encoded in Texas "Castle Law."
