Holy shit. I agree, they should give him a medal and a parade.

I hate he and his daughter both will be scarred because of that dickhead though.

If not for that, it would be a story with such a happy ending.

fr-

horrifying! i probably would have done the same thing. my first thought was like the neighbor quoted in the article:

"It's sad a man had to die. But I think anybody would have done that."

i don't glee in anyone's death, even evil people.

but of course, i certainly can't blame the father for beating this guy to a pulp.

on another level, i think the rapist got off easy. from what i've heard, being convicted as a child rapist and being sent to prison would have been worse than a quick relatively painless death.

Lets just hope he can deal with the killing, even though justified. Killing is not something easily forgotton...by him or the little girl. I hope he is smart enough to get some professional help for himself and his daughter.

This is big news down here. Texas is mega conservative. The NRA is screaming give him a medal and the liberals are saying for shame.

The interesting thing is that he didn't actually intend to kill the man. He just began hitting him (as any parent would), and thinking he was unconcious stopped. When he realized the man wasn't breathing 911 was called. I'm glad they withheld the name of the father to protect the child involved. Nasty buissiness this whole ordeal.

The gentleman involved is incredibly remorseful that the guy died. That is his privelege. I'm glad the media isn't hounding him. I probably wouldn't feel any remorse in his position but I'd still want the media held at bay because of relatives, etc. of the perp.

Sadly the media is ALL over the town. The post you linked even referenced calls being made to neighbors and some waitress at a diner. I mean cmon. You are correct, he was remorsefull, and the transcript even has him screaming and shouting at the dispatchers to get the ambulance there. Unfortunantly they could not locate his farm and he died before the medics even arrived. I won't lose any sleep over a pediphile dying, but I know the families of both the victims are suffering wich is a shame.

Lucylastic -> RE: Charges hell, he should get a medal. (6/21/2012 6:10:01 AM)

as an avowed left of liberal, Im screaming "good fucking riddance" to the pede, I feel for the father, and the child, so much, I hope they get thru this with help and support.
The pedes family too, you cant choose your relatives.

I agree give that guy a medal!!

A friend of mine walked in to check on her sick little girl to find her husband raping her. She beat him off of her and called the police. One asked her why she didn't kill him. She said she wanted to but she did not want to scare her little girl any more.

I am very much in agreement with the thread title. Personally, I couldn't see him being indited. Why spend the money to prosecute him when it would be so unlikely that they would ever get a conviction? Yeah, I know the letter of the law, etc, but does anyone think they could come up with twelve people that would send the guy to jail?

I have heard people say he never should have gone to the grand jury at all. This happened in Texas. Texas has one of the most liberal applications of "Castle Law," basically laws that allow you to protect home, property, self and others from harm. His actions fell under protection of Castle Law in Texas.

it's legal in Texas to kill a tresspasser on your property. The ability to use deadly force to protect someone from the active commission of a sexual crime is very clearly encoded in Texas "Castle Law."
