ORIGINAL: LafayetteLady If your endo is that severe, there is a way to cure it. A hysterectomy. I perved your profile, and based on your age, what would be the reason not to have one if you are suffering so much? Well, the pain used to be intermittent and I wasn't willing to risk having my sex organs taken out to alleviate part-time trouble. The last couple of years though have been increasingly painful and getting more frequent so it's something that I'm seriously reconsidering if I can't find some other viable alternative. I am hoping that as my post-menopausal insomnia and hot flashes decrease that the pain will start to ease up and eventually stop. Everything I have read on this subject indicates that 95% of the time, endo symptons go away post-menopause. Technically, I'm post-menopause (will be two years in August) so I'm willing to wait a bit longer and see if things ease enough that surgery won't be necessary. I'm certainly not going to wait forever and if I weren't a masochist, I'd probably have had the surgery at least 5 years ago. I'm finding a limit with just how much pain I'm able to handle with this though and it's starting to effect other things (such as getting an endo attack while I'm cooking as happened this evening). Surgery .. It's not out of the question but it's a last resort for sure.
