Thank you for that link as well. What really pisses me off is not just the hassle of getting the stolen images deleted but all the extra work it entails to sort out it not happening again, such as watermarking all my images. That has been a right pain.

sorry to hear this. if you want to take it to the next level, use this web site's form to create a formal copyright complaint, compel this site to give you his IP address with barrister letter, then compel his ISP to give you his address with barrister letter, then send him barrister letter. i'm sure he'll stop after that.

oooh, purple lady gave me an idea...maybe she meant this too, but you can do it yourself. put a water-mark across your pics. it can be very light and unobtrusive, but enough to stop most people from going through the trouble of defeating it (Photoshopping it out).

....... yes, I tried the watermarking and am near the end of sorting out all my images, and tearing my hair out Karmastic!!

Welcome to the discussion side of CM.

Talk to whoever does your website for you. There are things you can do to keep most people from being able to steal your pics. However, anyone with the knowledge and the right software can do it, no matter what you do.

I tend to take a life is too short view of this kind of thing.

You have a point there...... maybe I should just chill out more.

Two years ago a transexual in the USA harvested about 10 images off my website and pretended to be me. They were getting $$$$$ deposits, setting up appointments etc and going on dating sites blah, blah, blah. I only found out because this pro-domme in Detroit contacted me and told me the whole sorry tale. She had fallen for this persona that had been created (she was bisexual and yes, the persona was as well!). We stayed in touch. She had been led a merry dance....... and eventually she realised stuff did not add up and then wrangled a confession out of the person who invented the persona. She had invested so much of her time and energy into a load of crap.

But I get your point, what I think you are communicating to me......... is it worth my time and energy, especially since, unlike before, they are not using a face shot of mine this time.

I reckon I shall take what I can get. Thanks for the thanks!

Lockit -> RE: STEALING IMAGES (6/11/2012 2:41:09 PM)

If you aren't using web sites to promote your own web site, then take your pictures off the web sites. You won't have to worry about your expensive shots being stolen or your being impersonated by someone else. If you are using them for advertisement, all good... but there are risks and you just ran into one of them. You take the precautions that you can and unfortunately, have to deal with the rest.

I can see you are fighting mad and I don't blame you, but at the same time, there really isn't a lot you can do about thieves or online scammers using whatever they can to fool the masses. It is just something that cannot be regulated at this time, if it ever can be.

You can't guard your photos, spend time seeking anyone that is stealing them and expect it all to go smoothly, unless that time doing so means little to you. I would think you are losing more money chasing the bad guys than you are if someone pretends with another name and uses part of your pictures.

You might want to consider not breaking terms of service in your attempt to right some wrongs.

How do you know its the same person and they are doing it at other sites?

Exaclty the same text, description, name used on the other sites. Other photos from my professional website used. There are guys I know, slaves, who go through collarme, late.com and report to me, and other mistresses..... when they find infringements of copyright. Sometimes I wish I didn't know!

Lockit, professional mistresses put photos up...... how could we not. It is important for prospective clients to see us. If I didn't have images up where I advertise the clients would wonder what I am hiding. I feel you are right in the sense that having images stolen goes with the territory...... and even if they are watermarked, people still have the way and means to steal them, if they want to enough.

I also have an image on here, collarme. Not that this image has ever been stolen, it is too blurry to download, but like some folk on here, I thought my prince charming may be out their and I would have a better chance finding him if I put up a pic....!!!!! (P.S. I have changed it now to something more 'sensible').

Regarding someone pretending to be me (this was another case of an individual stealing my images), they were also using my professional name so I had no choice but to sort it out. I can't be viewed as someone who takes deposits and then does not carry through.

And yes, naming and shaming is not appropriate, thank you for reminding me of that. I get carried away because I am pissed off and yes, could be doing other things with my time. I have taken note and removed their details from my profile.

Thanx again.

That was day before yesterday and he was an outright twatwaffle.  I find a lot of people are when they are so easily proven wrong.

So your profile on CM was set up just to explain that your photos were being stolen?

mistresshourglas -> RE: STEALING IMAGES (6/11/2012 4:18:45 PM)

In a nutshell, my profile on CM was set up to get my stolen photos taken down, not to faff around 'just to explain'. Do you have a problem with that? Why should I not want to have someone who steals my property return it? I bet you would not take to kindly to someone stealing your stuff.

I was told that I had to sign in and create a profile, be a member BEFORE collarme admin could be approached and asked to remove my photos from another member's profile. I did this, got them removed, said profile was deleted....... wandered off....... then I was contacted again and told another photo of mine was taken (they had set up a new account)....... done by same individual!!

That not only had they done this here..... but elsewhere.

People steal the photos of mistresses, normally from the professional sites that we pro-dommes use to advertise on and link our professional websites to. We pay to advertise on these sites. They are places that pro-dommes use and prospective clients/clients go to, and I suppose the curious...... or those wishing to steal photos.

I am not the first mistress to have my photos stolen, nor the last.

LookieNoNookie -> RE: STEALING IMAGES (6/11/2012 5:19:00 PM)

mistresshourglas....

I noted that these photos (as you have suggested) were purportedly stolen from your website: http://dominatrixmistresshourglass.co.uk/galleries/under-stilettos/

Knowing that they were (again, purportedly) stolen from http://dominatrixmistresshourglass.co.uk/galleries/under-stilettos/ , is there any chance they had been stolen once before from http://dominatrixmistresshourglass.co.uk/galleries/under-stilettos/ and that (possibly) later, they were stolen from another website (other than of course, the heretofore mentioned http://dominatrixmistresshourglass.co.uk/galleries/under-stilettos/), giving some credence then to "public use"?

I would recommend that you contact the host for http://dominatrixmistresshourglass.co.uk/galleries/under-stilettos/ and ask them if they have any possible legal action they can assist with, as....stealing from http://dominatrixmistresshourglass.co.uk/galleries/under-stilettos/ would certainly be an illegal mission if, as you mention in your earlier post regards theft from http://dominatrixmistresshourglass.co.uk/galleries/under-stilettos/ these images are copyrighted, and therefore protected under some level of international law (certainly within the Western world that is).

I would certainly be concerned if they stole copyrighted images from http://dominatrixmistresshourglass.co.uk/galleries/under-stilettos/ because that would seem an ungainly thing to do....knowing that you might make money from http://dominatrixmistresshourglass.co.uk/galleries/under-stilettos/ and therefore would feel abridged to some degree having your website http://dominatrixmistresshourglass.co.uk/galleries/under-stilettos/ (under some financial) attack, and therefore having your future and current income being in some fashion affected for..... http://dominatrixmistresshourglass.co.uk/galleries/under-stilettos/ .

Just my two cents.

Do I have a problem with that? No what I have a problem with is someone responding like a bitch when a question was asked. But good luck with all that.

Karmastic -> RE: STEALING IMAGES (6/11/2012 5:28:20 PM)

lol, forgive my ignorance, but i presume you're saying she stole the name herself?

meh, i don't care, this is just an excuse for me to say that i viewed her profile, and she already had used my suggestion to watermark her picture (there's only 1 pic). she presumably already had done this. nough said.

Nor are you the 9,850,985,0495,820,948,254 it isn't fun and it isn't nice but the only people that can work this out for you are support people. Which I am sure they will if you give them time.

You might also want to tell whoever is running your site that if they put a transparent blank file over your image that people will then not be able to steal it. Well most people won't be able to. You could also try using Flash as an image replacer to show the image(they try to save your image but end up saving a different one). Auto slice should work as well.
