I'm not much of a monarchist in truth but I do respect the lady in terms of what she seems to be able to give people. They who went and took part enjoyed themselves and those that watched on TV (expecting boats travelling down the river to be visually exciting) got what they deserved.

It was raining, like it does. I like the rain because it cleans my car.

I thought Kate looked very striking next to Camilla's white ensemble. It's all a fashion parade for me. Thank heavens for the internet.

I have always viewed the royals with a mixture of respect and pity. Yes, they're rich as Croesus, but living under a microscope like that? Not desirable. And the entire life of Prince Charles, if that isn't totally Gormenghast I don't know what is. They're upholding something-or-other, and I am not on the ground there to be able to judge for myself what that something is, or if it's necessary.

My grandmother loved watching them on television. There's lots of faded nobility in Italy, but they're just part of the landscape, not a pageant.
