LaTigresse -> Republicans are the most dangerous drivers! (5/31/2012 12:11:33 PM)

http://bottomline.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/05/28/11865363-buckle-up-the-most-dangerous-states-for-drivers?lite

I saw this and realized......5 states, 5 red states!

Links within the article also showed that aside from Michigan, they have the most corrupt states and the least peaceful states.

Funny stuff.

Moonhead -> RE: Republicans are the most dangerous drivers! (5/31/2012 12:31:22 PM)

Mind you, have any of them drowned somebody in a car?

hlen5 -> RE: Republicans are the most dangerous drivers! (5/31/2012 12:57:27 PM)

The article stated that MAssachussetts was the safest state. I guess the exception would be if you are a secretary working near Chappaquiddick (sp?).

I have no idea how it's spelled either, but I thought I'd jump in there before any of the neocon masive started bleating about a Kennedy getting away with murder like George Zimmerman...

Apparently. But then again I have to hope that the studies that came up with these 'facts' were a little more recent than that stellar incident.

Zimmerman called the police. Kennedy called his attorny.

Yeah, something that happened YEARS ago and has NOTHING to do with the information of this thread. Would be like saying Oklahoma is a good place for 'civil political discussions' and than bring up 5/19/1995.....

Your not a good driver until your a Masshole! Try getting into Logan during rush hour from 93 in the morning.....

Both of them had one up on you. They could spell.

I've got to say commuting to Boston was more educational than a defensive driving course.

If you can drive in Boston, you can drive anywhere.

As someone who has driven both places, Boston is an intro to miami.

You have top go to Rome to find a tougher city to drive in.

Nuh uh - Miami

http://www.travelandleisure.com/articles/americas-worst-drivers/2

America's Worst Drivers [by city]

No. 1 Miami

Spending too much time checking their hair in the rearview mirror? These Floridians ranked near the top for their good looks, fashion savvy, and cocktail scene. But all that eye candy can get distracting. Locals didn’t impress voters with their street smarts: Miami ranked as the city with the worst drivers.

See all the America's Favorite Cities survey results!

ETA: Oh, but if you meant to navigate though, ya, Boston is why I bought a GPS.

OMGZ Rome is fucking insane.

joether -> RE: Republicans are the most dangerous drivers! (6/1/2012 11:21:43 AM)

Rome has NOTHING on Boston. Drivers in Boston are very confident and skilled drivers (could easy ace NASCAR drivers on a road track). There are two 'Right of Way' rules that are active in Boston:

A) Old Car beats new car
B) Big vehicle beats small vehicle

When in doubt, it comes down to which driver is more kamikaze verse timid. Horns mean NOTHING to us Bastonians. That to us, says "Hi, I'm new in Boston, and I'm timid....even though my car is big and old...".

Marc2b -> RE: Republicans are the most dangerous drivers! (6/1/2012 11:27:24 AM)

None of you people have known terror on the road until you have driven the QEW. Canadians are, for the most part, a nice, affable people but for some reason - which remains a mystery to me - they turn into homicidal maniacs whenever they get behind the wheel of a car.

Please note I said tougher, not dumber.

Case in point - I once gave a ride home to a colleague who lived on the south shore from an IBM site just north of the city. It was rush hour, but traffic was still moving at a pretty scary speed. A guy in a rusty looking VW beetle gets cut off by another in one of those big old chevy Impalas. Between the Boston Garden on ramp and the rte 3 cut-off in Quincy, the beetle caught up with and hit the Impala in the driver's door more than 30 times. The piece de resistance was when the VW guy realized there was a mass trooper back behind the glut of cars we were part of desperately trying to follow the whole crazy scene (NOBODY RUBBERNECKS LIKE IN BOSTON) and took one final shot causing the Impala to turn sideways on the SE Expressway blocking the entire southbound side and then driving like a bat out of hell.
The Impala sat there blocking traffic and I could hear people over the that 'Wah Wah Let met through' cop siren shouting "That was fuckin wicked".
Yeah, compare that to fixing one's hair.
[:D]
