Dip in White Birth Rate: 'This is Not a Good Thing'

quote:

Roger Schlafly, son of Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly, today mourned on the Eagle Forum Blog a Census Bureau report showing that non-white births have now exceeded white births in the U.S.

Schafly writes: America is becoming non-white

quote:

For decades, the NY Times has been promoting immigration policies that heavily favored a huge influx of non-whites. Today's lead story brags:

quote:

WASHINGTON — After years of speculation, estimates and projections, the Census Bureau has made it official: White births are no longer a majority in the United States.

Non-Hispanic whites accounted for 49.6 percent of all births in the 12-month period that ended last July, according to Census Bureau data made public on Thursday, while minorities — including Hispanics, blacks, Asians and those of mixed race — reached 50.4 percent, representing a majority for the first time in the country’s history.

The article goes on to quote experts who say that this is a wonderful thing, except for the facts that the Hispanic immigrants are uneducated and do not vote Democrat often enough.

It is not a good thing. The immigrants do not share American values, so it is a good bet that they will not be voting Republican when they start voting in large numbers.

I especially love Mr. Schafly's connecting a "love of American values" with voting Republican,

So, if new legal immigrants, in particular legal Hispanic immigrants, voted Republican rather than Democratic or Libertarian or Green or any other political party - they should be welcomed with open arms, right?

Interesting that "Hispanics, blacks, Asians and those of mixed race" = immigrants.

Ozzy and Harriet. We are a nation of TV thinkers. Wow.

But anyway, yes, you've got it--this election is about registering new voters and getting them to the polls.

Repubs are going after NASCAR fans (yes, seriously), and Dems after college students (to update their registration when they return home).

~FR~

The dip in white population is even more pronounced in Western Europe and the immigration of 'others' is greater there than here. The flood gates have broken and the people of color are pouring in. Possibly the inevitable consequences of:

the end of 600 years of white-dominated colonialism [although the Japanese gave it a go];

that white people are a minority on the planet;

the revolution in electronic communications;

population and poverty push in the non-industrial nations.

Just guessing here.

The West has much to be concerned about imo. Two possible reactions are available: assimilation or nativism. We see both at work in the US today. Much depends on our historic success at assimilating newcomers.

What or how in the world is anyone going to change this long term trend without radial,anti-social actions?

And the folks who are most afraid of this.......what are they afraid of?

They will most likely be long dead, before this situation happens.

So what`s the big deal then?

Let`s say for argument`s sake that whites do one day become a racial/ethnic minority?

America will be just fine.Americans will be just fine.Future generations of Americans will be just fine.

Can we have a conservative please explain this to the rest of us?

The problem seems to be ideological. One side thinks Americans are a nation and the U.S.A. is a nation state, while the other side does not recognize this to be true, or does not think it has any value. As a nation state the US was built on Western Europe culture, Christian religion and English language. It is a fact that fast immigration by people from other cultures will degrade a nation state. Some time ago assimilation was a topic, now it has been replaced (esp. by the left wing) by so called "multiculturalism", or in other words by nothing.

The problem, for some like Mr. Schafly, is not ideological - it's racism, with politicial overtones.

People who legally immigrate to the United States from anywhere other than Western Europe who are not Protestant Christians and whose birth language is not the American dialect of English do not, in general, vote Republican. And that is Mr. Schafly's problem that keeps him up nights.

As a young man growing up in the 1950's-1960's, I would hear Mr. Schafly's arguments from my Protestant Christian, English-speaking, Republican-voting maternal grandmother whose ancestors came to America from England - except in her case it wasn't Hispanics and Asians, it was Italians (they were - gasp - Roman Catholics, spoke Italian to each other and voted for Democratic candidates!) and Blacks.

Some things never change - and one thing that seems to never change is the feelings of White/Western Europe cultured/Protestant Christian/English language speaking supremacy.

Dress it up however you would like (usually in a white sheet and hood) – but those who are White, English-speaking, Protestant Christians whose ancestors came from Western Europe are NOT inherently superior to everyone else on the planet, despite what they tell themselves.

First of all nation state refers to political entity or body politic. Secondly, we have a Consititution which is not living and breathing -- the Consititution provides for individual sovereignty rights including state sovereignty rights. Is a contract in which two or more parties enter into an agreement living and breathing? Meaning, do terms and conditions change with time? Of course not. Same goes for our founding. Is the federal leviathan living and breathing? No. Civil society is living and breathing. The founding provides for what the leviathan can and cannot do contractually bound by articles and amendments.

What I just read is hack butchery.

I think it's more political than racist.

2 groups of brown people. Mexicans and Cubans.

One votes primarily Democrat when they attain citizenship, The other votes primarily Republican when they attain citizenship.

Both come from situations so bad that they risk their lives to get to US soil.

One is welcomed with open arms. The other is vilified in the media and deported ASAP.

Nice to see that racism is still alive and well in the old home country.

Perhaps one day you will acquire a dictionary. Should that happen you might acquire the definition for the word soveriegnty

I'm don't consider myself left or right as I find myself agreeing on both sides depending on the issue. Republican/ Democrat, would seem to me just to be another way of placing labels and divide us. Race and political affiliation are the weapons of choice leading up to this election. I'm thinking that a little more common sense, getting self informed, and not regurgitating what is said in the media (no matter where you get your news) with emotional conviction would do the whole country good. Cases I would like to point out if you can put aside emotion for a second are very black and white.
1. Illegal immigration: Does not matter were your from or what color you claim there are laws you have to follow. If you came here Illegally you broke the law and are subject to punishment under that law. Just because you have been a productive member of the community in that time does not mean your exempt. If I still from one person but give the proceeds from that theft to charity helping countless others, I'm still guilty of theft.
2. Right to Health Care: Simple answer is that I never saw it in the constitution.
3. Federal Spending: Both sides are nuts and if we all ran our business or personal lives like this we would be on the streets. You can't loan money to countries and police the world when you don't have money at home. As for what to do about it? Well I'm not sure about your job but when I over spend my job does not give me more money to cover the debt. Why are we going to pay more because Big Brother can't get his spending under control?

Many will say I'm over simplifying or that I'm a left or right winger, truth is that we have been whipped into a emotional frenzy by the media and the two party system. If we all just step back and think with common sense leaving our emotion at the door we may just find there is a simple solution.

Wecome to the boards, friend.

I would suggest that this phenomenon goes deeper than your basic immigration/boarder control issues.

Closing boarders(next to impossible) is a knee jerk reaction to a much deeper fear that god forbid,one day our nation won`t be majority white/Euro-centric.

I imagine that at one point during long depopulation/holocaust we(white/Euro-centric men) inflicted on native Americans, that someone considered hey,"one day if we this keeps up,native Americans will become a minority".

I suggest we give this issue and the republican/supremacists pushing it the same amount of concern that was given during the days that native Americans lamented becoming a minority.IOWs.....suck it up.

Even if we sealed the boarder and tossed every illegal,this trend will only slow a bit but eventually will still happen.

Whites need to fuck their way out of this but at this point.....that`s not going to happen considering that many couples are choosing not to have more than one or two kids.

ControlAddiction -> RE: Rightist articulates the Right's anti-immigration stand (5/20/2012 12:20:58 PM)

I don't see whites having fewer children as a laps, or a sign of the end of the American way of life. Closing the border will never be an option. Japan and China tried it and it ended due to poverty. That is not to say that we should allow illegal activity to go unpunished. That just leads to more exception. Where do we draw the line? Not just for illegals but for politicians and citizens. Seems that more and more we make excuses for people to do what they want. Political correctness has gone overboard in this country. Look at Homeland Security as an example, we can search a 3yo girl in an airport and dismiss it as a random check but we are racist for asking a voter to prove they are legal to vote. Something went wrong somewhere...

Solarstone -> RE: Rightist articulates the Right's anti-immigration stand (5/21/2012 12:27:28 AM)

You're a moron.

Do the nation a favor, don't vote.

and I read the posts and wonder why everything has to be brought back to the same bullshit right vs left argument. It's like some people are so blinded by their hate of the right that they fail to see the racists assholes on the left. I wonder if they realize that they are just as bad as the ones they are hating on.
