Dominic Deville, An Evil Birthday Clown, Stalks Your Child For A Fee

For a fee, Dominic Deville will wear this costume and scare your birthday child for a week. Attention parents: Just in case your children don't have anything to talk about in therapy, here's something you might want to consider:

Dominic Deville rents himself out as an "evil birthday clown" who leaves scary notes for your children, warning them that they're being watched and that they'll soon be attacked.

At the end of a terrifying week, your child will indeed be attacked. Deville, wearing a freaky clown mask, will smash a cake into your child's face, Metro reported.

Deville is capitalizing on what has become a mainstay for all circus-going kids: the fear of clowns. You may think Stephen King's "It" was scary, but Deville will keep you shaking in your big, red floppy shoes.

Throughout the week leading up to the child's birthday, "The child feels more and more that it is being pursued," Deville told Metro. "The clown's one and only aim is to smash a cake into the face of his victim, when they least expect it, during the course of seven days."

Deville harasses his targets with texts, phone calls and letters to let them know that their time is coming, according to the Herald Sun.

Of course, since the creepy stunt is "all in fun," Deville promises to back off if he's asked to by parents.

"If at any point the kids get scared or their parents are concerned we stop right there," he said. "But most kids absolutely love being scared senseless."

Deville, a Swiss actor working in Lucerne, told Orange News that he got the idea from watching his favorite horror movies.

I think, depending on the age of the child, this guy could either be great or the parents need some parenting classes.  Obviously, for the kids eight and below, this would be a horrible thing to do.  Between 10 and 12, it would really depend on the child, but I would think it was a generally bad idea.

However, for the teenagers?  I think it would be hysterical.  Technically, they are too old to have clowns at their birthday party, but many (especially boys) are into horror movies and such, and it would be a great gift.  I know when my son was like 14-18, this would have been an awesome thing for him.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Clowns (5/9/2012 10:43:59 AM)

Wouldn't it be funny as hell if the clown was hired to mess with some 17-18 year old and the kid stomped him?

fucktoyprincess -> RE: Clowns (5/9/2012 11:10:41 AM)

What the heck!?

This seems like a dangerous idea to me. Terrible idea for a younger child and I would say, even for an older child/teenager.

The only way this can work properly is if the child has NO clue that this has been set up by a parent. I mean this only works if the child actually gets scared. And with all the creepy stuff that actually goes on in the world, I can't see this being so funny if it works (i.e., working means scaring the crap out of your child). Even after they find out it was all a "joke" haha, I still think to put someone through something that scary is not funny in real time. Even as an adult who loves horror films, etc., I would be utterly freaked out if I started receiving notes, etc. from someone like this. Not to mention, did anyone look at the photos. This is not Bozo the clown we are talking about, but a seriously twisted looking clown.

I also feel that this resembles a lot of bullying that goes on in middle and high school - where kids anonymously taunt a child - particularly over the Internet, and then actually do something physically harmful to the child. I think even as a "joke" (in the "oh hey, can't you take a joke?") that kind of torment is usually not handled well even by older children. Being stalked and attacked by someone out there who is "anonymous" but clearly knows you is a scary thing that many children actually experience in real life at the hands of other students.

I also know that several clowns in the NY/Long Island area have been convicted of child molestation. Makes me wonder about the person behind this business. What's really going on here?

So the whole thing weirds me out - not in a "horror flick" way, but in a "this could actually endanger your child" kind of way.... [sm=2cents.gif]

I am with you. Pennywise still haunts me, yikes! When I was growing up, my mom painted a really good painting of a good clown, so good in fact, my brothers and I would never look directly at it because we believed his eyes were moving. She ended up having to get rid of it. :)

TNDommeK -> RE: Clowns (5/9/2012 11:46:31 AM)

I think Pennywise is the main reason that people are afraid of clowns. And just think, kids now-a-days has no idea who Pennywise is. SCARY!!!

Moonhead -> RE: Clowns (5/9/2012 11:49:09 AM)

Look at my lovely hat...

MissImmortalPain -> RE: Clowns (5/9/2012 11:51:31 AM)

I hate clowns and if my parents did that to me...I would hate them too :|

*to keep things clear though* Pennywise is the only clown I don't hate. I think it is because Tim Curry is under there, and my brain knows it, and he is to hot to hate.

Moonhead -> RE: Clowns (5/9/2012 11:57:01 AM)

What is it with dominants and Tim Curry?

SoulAlloy -> RE: Clowns (5/9/2012 11:58:44 AM)

I think it would be great to do this to a boss at work... Though he'd probably end up being sued

MissImmortalPain -> RE: Clowns (5/9/2012 12:00:51 PM)

Is it a dominant thing? I thought he was hot even when I was a kid. But then as a child I had a crush on the beast too...not Gene, but the beast. I have alway just assumed it is because I'm weird [:)]

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Clowns (5/9/2012 12:02:08 PM)

Clowns are evil. Except SHAKES THE CLOWN.

Even Milky is an evil clown, though friendly evil, like the serial killer who is not after you.

This seems a much better angle on this [:D]

I find clowns scary as heck. I met a Bozo once when I was about 6 or 7 and damn.. it was freaky. If my parents had got me a clown..any sort of clown for my birthday I would have been scared for life. But to have one stalk me.. {{shudder}}. Ok.. I am shuddering, but there is a piece of me that finds that hot. As a kid I would have stayed locked in my closet under the stuffed animals. As i got older I might do that same thing only I would be rubbing myself raw at the thought.
It's probably the same mindset that had me hitchhiking when I was much younger. Anxiety, fear, thrill..
but NOT WHEN I WAS A KID!

Funny how people think clowns are scary or evil.
Maybe you should read something about Dr. Mengele. Now thats real scary and evil shit.
People are strange...

playfulotter -> RE: Clowns (5/9/2012 3:49:05 PM)

I have always been a bit afraid of clowns....When I was a kid I saw this B movie one afternoon on TV too that really made them scary called "Killer Clowns from Outer Space"...I used to have clown paint-by-number paintings on my wall my mother put up and I would turn them around each night before I went to bed....so funny thinking about it now as they don't creep me out so much anymore.
