Dear lurkers,

I know you're out there - I've even heard from some of you . The way you write says you're reading the threads and are interested. And, that you write and express yourself well, and have something to add. I'm sure I'm not alone in hoping you will add your own contributions to what ever it is that makes you want to read these threads. I know I love it *gets mushy*

i.e. to above - i hope you will post sometimes to some threads, not necessarily in this thread.

If you're comfortable with it, I would love to hear your perspective on why you lurk (don't care, don't have time, Etc.).

Ha - I guess it's weird asking people who don't post to post. No offense, just thought it would be cool and interesting to hear from people who don't normally post.

edited for clarity

Dear Non-lurker,

I would say that I generally don't post because I am "late to the game". When I finally get around to utilizing a computer and composing a well thought out response... my opinion has already been stated... 5x over.

I don't believe in beating a dead horse.

Sincerely,

Lurker aka Allie

Allie, I love you!  One of the reasons threads get boring is that every single opinion is repeated endlessly.  We get it, folks.  Of course, I admit I am guilty as well.

I'm with Allie, I'm usually pretty late to the party...by then the thread has deteriorated into the back and forth of the usual suspects.

And I guess I'm getting cranky in my old age and not willing to engage anyone in an online forum

I post when I have something to say. Sometimes threads I might have replied to have deteriorated to something else and I have no desire to join in. Sometimes reading the thread is enough, or I have nothing to add, or what I might have said already has been. I've been here a lot of years and life tends to take precedence over forums and message boards. I generally just come here to read whatever catches my eye and then I'm off elsewhere checking on other things.

I lurk because that's what I like to do... I like to be outside the box and watch.... these forums are highly amusing
I do occasionally post but beating that dead horse and all is tiresome...

sometimes i want to post more than i do but then I think better of it and dont cuz there is always some jackass that is gonna disagree with you, sometimes attack you personally, etc and its back and forth endlessly.. Life is really too short for that, imo.. Reasonable thoughtfull discussion i like but too often thats not what happens.. Some threads are very informative tho.. on certain topics, I will use the info as a jumping off point for more research..

I don't really lurk insofar as creep, slither and slink. I do it because it's fun, like snatching an ankle from under the bed. Is that any weirder than asking non-posters to post...?

Now if I wanted to creep I think I would need one of those cool Jedi hooded cloaks...oh, wait. *runs off to his closet*
