Well, I must confess I do still peek in on my conservative Anglican buddies now and then.

Tonight I came across this gem: "A casual awareness of the transgender demonstrates that [after surgery] they are still as delusional, still committed—most of the time—to lying to themselves about their identity, and now tortured over the dreadful choices that they have made."

I asked what evidence underlay the poster's assertion. She replied: "Doesn’t matter—as its the foundational worldview that will interpret and translate the evidence." Then followed a long paragraph about how our different theological perspectives would make it impossible to "reasonably discuss far more minor matters like 'empirical' evidence."

I think I'm beginning to understand where Dawkins is coming from.
