GoddessEris87 -> How do keywords work in profile search? (4/14/2012 9:10:33 AM)

I have noticed when you do a keyword search for a profile it will pull up some profiles but not others, even if both profiles have the same keywords. Is there a special way to get a keyword to work in your profile?

Probably best to give an example.

However, hazarding a reason, I would point out that ALL the search terms appear to play a role, as does the ZIP CODE hidden in the profile.

So, for example, if you were to search for WOMEN in CALIFORNIA who are looking for DOMINANT MEN, you'd not catch anyone who 'says' they're from California but who has hidden in their profile settings a zip code of, say, KANSAS. The zip code wins on location, no matter the keyword.

Likewise, I think if they're looking for SWITCH MEN, then, again, the SWITCH MEN wins over the keyword.

What were you trying to find, pray tell?

I just plugged into the keyword search "married" and it seemed to work.
But maybe it only searches some fields.

Even though it's a decent search engine, there's bugs. E.g., search by user name doesn't always work. And some fields may be indexed for search, while others are not. And some are hidden to you.

So as you've discovered, you can't depend on any search.

Best bet is to avoid a keyword search anyway, since it's probably not likely that all candidates will list what you searched, even if they happen to like it. Better to do a wider search, then sort, or narrow it down further. To suggest any work-arounds, it might have been helpful if you indicated the type of thing you're doing a keyword search on.

Thanks for the reponses. Basically I am trying to make it easier for people to find Goddess Eris if they are interested in the same things that she is. For example, she likes cuckolding. That word is in her profile. However if I do a keyword search, other profiles comes up with the word highlighted, but hers does not. I put several variations of the word in her profile, like cuck, cuckold, cuckolded, but still nothing when you do a keyword search. Other profiles will still come up. I have seen other profiles that have the same issue. I thought maybe it only does a search only so many words in a profile before moving on so I put those keywords up front. Still not picked up in the search. I also put it up as her interest, but if you are not logged on, you cannot do a search based interests.

I did a few tests for this as well, with no match for GoddessEris87.
Then I thought maybe it's got something to do with the newness of your profile, but there
is also a way to search based on joined date, and she didn't show up there either.

I know until recently, it would sometimes take a few days for any changes I made to my
profile pictures to take affect, so maybe it's just that the system has to catch up with you.

I think you want to attach your profile with the name "Money Domme" and "Gold Digger" etc. That should bring them in, lol.

Karmastic -> RE: How do keywords work in profile search? (4/15/2012 1:07:13 AM)

Yes, again, profile name searches don't seem to work very well. And there's a lag between entering something and it being indexed for search.

Re your specific concern - I wouldn't worry about it. Those who seek what you like will find you, if you're active. Men like me who are looking for a woman don't waste their time on profiles that have been inactive for a long time. So, based on what I read in your profile, you will come up in a search for men seeking a dominant woman. The default search results are sorted by last logged in, so you will be early in the list. And based on your budding bosom and demographics, plenty of men will be interested.

I would be curious to know if that slave interview approach actually works IRL, and especially want to be enlightened on how a single domme likes cuckolding. How does that work [8|] Oh, you must know that word isn't in your profile, right? Sorry I got lost on the 3rd floor, women's apparel.

GoddessEris87 -> RE: How do keywords work in profile search? (4/15/2012 2:08:03 AM)

Thanks for the input Karmastic. I took out the keywords because they were of no use, that is why you didn't see them. I put them back in and we will see how long that lag is. As far as me screening the other potential slaves, send me a message in a couple months and I will let you know it pans out. There a few that have really peaked Goddess' interest and are starting the process. Goddess seems to be really enjoying herself as a single cukoldress (she is out tonight), but has only dealt with vanilla men. She seems to be really looking forward to having additonal cuckolds to serve her.

yw, and oooh, I'm excited for you, i really am! *vicarious thrills* have fun exploring, and it would be great to see a new thread later on with you sharing your experiences, if u care to share. i can relate to wanting to start this non-vanilla up-front, so you're not alone.

GoddessEris87 -> RE: How do keywords work in profile search? (4/15/2012 8:06:39 AM)

Goddess intends to have me keep her journal updated whenever an item is purchased off her wish list so I can relate the story of how she used the item she received. I plan on doing that personally at least once a month, so you should get regular updates if you are interested. I already picked up a pair of shoes she really wanted. She is planning on another date soon with a guy that is so innocent and vanilla. She is contemplating seducing him to the dark side. I am hoping her shoes will come in time and that is the next story I can relate.

kalikshama -> RE: How do keywords work in profile search? (4/15/2012 8:06:49 AM)

She showed up when I used "cuckolding" in the keyword field but no other criteria. Interestingly, she did not show up when I added United States in the Country drop down.

ps - interest is "piqued" not "peaked."

UPDATE: Karmastic was right.

Sometimes I have to slow down.

Thanks for the grammar check Kalikshama, hopefully I will remember next time I go to use that word. Piqued, not peaked.
