The iron workers assembling the last few floors of One World Trade Center say that their work above New York City’s skyline is more than just a job.

“It’s a part of history. It’s a part of rebuilding you know, part of putting lives back together to show people that the spirit won’t be broken,” iron worker Marvin Davis told Harry Smith in an interview airing tonight on Rock Center with Brian Williams.

Davis is the general foreman at the World Trade Center site. He is part of the generations of Mohawk Indians who have built New York’s famous skyscrapers. Both Davis and his son are helping construct One World Trade Center, formerly called the Freedom Tower.

“It’s a fortress. It’s a better built building than I’ve been on ever,” Davis said. “With the concrete and the steel, you know, both of them together combined, you know, this thing is, I think is impenetrable.”

Ayup! Little bit. Everyone's been moved out of there for a decade or so, and why move back when your commute is so much easier to Linden? And it's so much easier to park.

Leave the bridges and tunnels to the transvestite hookers.

Well he at least had an 'interesting' way about him, was at least somewhat entertaining on occasion, but more importantly ...

He never used the groan-inducing trailer-park-adolescent-legal-expert term -'gubafia' in any of his posts, nor to my recollection did he claim that the Queen ran the US Federal Reserve, nor flooded various posts with inane and logically self contradicting rants in the course of using more flood of not-proving-anything obscure unverified 'documents' in that cause.

Though he did certainly espouse a greater grand conspiracy, etc., unlike some others of that bent he at least was able to recognize the everyday variety of undue corporate influence in our government just for what it was and did not instantly ascribe any and every instance of it to aforesaid conspiracy (or the Queen).

There is another who has come upon the scene recently who thoroughly pollutes every thread he visits (being a great number of them), both in manner of obstinate idiocy and in flooding, and does his best to crowd out anything resembling knowledgeable or rational discourse. Far more annoying than anything Termy did.

Edwynn, I largely agree with you about T although I wouldn’t assess him quite as positively – a good deal of what he said was motivated by genuine hate, and he got weirdly paranoid about moi because we disagreed on certain issues but on the other hand he had a certain southern charm (if that’s the right way of putting it) and an off the wall sense of humour which mitigated to a fair extent, unlike that of the other “individual” you mention. Not too sure I know the other guy to which you refer. Come to thunk of it PAHunk hasn't been around much either.
