I too have been wondering what DS means by PPL and would ask him but he has me on Hide and didn't answer the last person who asked him. Can someone please enlighten me?

I diligently checked with Urban Dictionary and found this:

With the context, I think it might be a typo or a variant of PPO - professional political operative. Then again, it might be political penis licker, which describes a lot of people who claim to be liberal, unless it's a Democrat doing what they were so to opposed to a few years back.
