How many pictures car we have in our profile? Is there a limit? Is there a way to store additional pics in a album or some other area?

Also is there any other way to upload a pic besides the Edit Profile button and what is the size limit.

I looked but cant find this info anywhere.

Thanks,
reena

Profiles support up to 15 images at a time: one non-explicit primary photo and 14 additional ones. So, yes, there is a limit on the number of photos that can be hosted per profile. It's technically possible to embed more photos directly within a profile or journal provided they are hosted elsewhere, but I vaguely seem to recall something about that being frowned upon officially. However, given that the editor does provide a simple Insert/Edit Image feature, that may well not be the current take.

Other than the mobile site's functionally equivalent Update Profile Pictures link, the only way to upload pictures I'm aware of is the Edit Profile page. There do not seem to be significant limits on the dimensions or file sizes for uploaded images (I've successfully tested up to 15000x15000 pixel, 20+ MB JPEGs), but anything large that gets uploaded will automatically be resized so that the maximum dimension is only 600 pixels.

If you have a large number of photos you really want to share for some reason, just providing a link in your profile to your collection on another site better suited for showcasing it may make sense.

I have trouble when i remove an old picture to make space for a new one.

i Edit Profile and select pic to be removed and update. I then upload a new photo to replace the one removed. It doesn't work right. i still can find the original photo there when i look at View All Photos but if i click on the original the new photo pops up. Its like the thumbnail never got updated but it points to the new photo.

Even worse i tried to do another remove old and upload new (photo X). Now the old photo remains and if i click on it the old photo is still displayed unlike situation above. Then, if this isn't bad enough when viewing profile and selecting the Photos>> button when i get to the photo that should have been remove it displays a distorted original that's too wide. i never see Photo X that i uploaded. (Still with me... cause i'm lost myself.)

The kicker is if i Edit Profile and go to remove that wide distorted photo then i see Photo X. Only there and nowhere else can i see PhotoX. I give up!! Any ideas?

Go to my profile and look and see what happens.

Thanks,
reena

If I click on your avatar picture, it takes me to your profile which shows the very same picture as the main photo.
I switch my profile photos around often, and was just commenting on another thread about how fast the changes
are taking place when doing so, as before, it would usually take a day or so.

I suggest signing out of the site completely, deleting all your internet cookies, etc, and then signing back in.
Also, don't forget to use your REFRESH button whenever you make changes.

Thanks for your help poise.

Those are very good suggestions that i would have given to someone too but i was too stubborn or involved to try them.

When you say changes taking a day or so that was in the past? Now its faster? I would expect changes to be almost instantaneous unless they must be approved by administration.

Yes click the my avatar and get my profile with the same pic but go to View All Photos and there is a photo of me in black dress with red umbrella that gives the profile photo when clicked. But you never see the caged photo i uploaded.

If these were my biggest problems i'd be happy.

BTW if you come back to read this i just looooove your duckling picture. Its good for the heart.

Thank you for the kind words regarding the duckling picture. Coincidentally, I just returned from a visit to a nearby lake,
where I often go to feed the ducks, and I had a mama and 6 of her little babies come up to where I was sitting. So cute!

As for your images, I do see the one of you in a cage, but I do not see one in a black dress wit ha red umbrella.
I also noticed you currently have only 14 of 15 images on display, so Im wondering if perhaps there one with an
invalid file type to cause it not to post?

I'd say, start all over from scratch, and number the images you want uploaded in the sequence you want them to appear in.
As I mentioned earlier, I just changed out all 14 of the extras on my profile, and the changes appeared instantly.
For the past few months previously, there had always been a delay, which was glitch related, not moderator delayed.
