Some people never cease to amaze me...[:D]

The latest hate campaign against gay people targets EA Games.

In the last couple of weeks, EA Games has been swamped by thousands of emails and letters decrying the games publisher's decision to include LGBT content in its video games, particularly Mass Effect 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic.

"Homos are ruining gaming!" wrote one boycotter. "I urge all parents to keep any EA games from their children to prevent them to be AIDS-spreading, Satan-loving scum," wrote another.

Some of the letters also complain that EA has deleted posts against LGBT issues on its official forum. This is true when the comments in question violate discussion rules on hate speech. We commend EA on having a nice tidy non-hatey forum.

I admit I played some of those games, and the sex stuff was both fun and tasteful. As a male, I played a female character, and picked the lesbian sexual interest (actually she was bi, but...). Do you think watching two women kissing made me more or less likely to look at guys in that way???
Granted, I would have been annoyed if I somehow ended up in one of the gay sex things, but if you have played any of the bioware games, (mass effect 1-3, dragon age 1-2), you know that getting any of the romantic story lines takes an intentional act...
I guess the complaints were parents afraid their kids were secretly gay and would get all romantic over the storylines???

I just see it as a sign on the wall. It's like they grasp at every straw just to spew hatred.
Cause in the end I dont give a fuck, some people will always hate gay people.
It's the non self control that strikes me.
You dont like your kids playing gay games, then just forbid it. You're a parent You decide.
But fuck off the free market.
If someone attacks that freedom, they can expect the same shit in return.
Like gaybashers should expect to get beat up themselves.

Amusingly enough, my first thought when I saw the thread title was the olympics. Not that a bunch of nude Greek men wrestling is gay or anything...

Edit to make sure I am not pilloried too badly: Original olympics: Greek. Original olympics: All male. Original olympics: All nude (to prevent cheating like the new swimsuits being used in modern games). Original olympics: included wrestling.
Therefore, yes, the original olympics included nude Greek men wrestling...

Yeah I'm like that a little misleading sometimes.
It brings more folks in if they have to guess.
Like whenever I see a reference to Zimmerman, skittles or the like I steer well away from the thread.

Anyway those greeks were flaming homosexuals, although I have learned they were not to be called gay.
That notion didnt even exist back then.
I will dig up the link about those active and passive sexists.
