Hey, he is out of the race, lets cut him a break...
His daughter really is sick, lets let him focus on her. Sure, it may be just an excuse, but who cares, he's not going to be the Repub nominee this year, or the VP choice. He's just a private citizen now, let him retire...

well said.

how do you think I feel...I live in PA!!

tazzygirl -> RE: Rick quits,it`s all Mitt`s,newty......well.....whatever.... (4/10/2012 7:57:56 PM)

Not like he had a chance of winning here.

erieangel -> RE: Rick quits,it`s all Mitt`s,newty......well.....whatever.... (4/10/2012 8:09:57 PM)

True. He lost his reelection for the Senate by 18 points. It would have been a miracle to win over Romney here in PA. The same way it would have been a miracle for Obama to beat Hillary here in '08. All Obama's campaign was concerned about was narrowing the margin of her win.

I think if he was incredibly concerned about his daughter, he wouldn't have entered the race in the first place. I hate to think the worst of people but I have a feeling he is using her as an excuse.

It's difficult to disagree with you HW. I can't him quitting had he been leading the polls in the PA primary, can you?

That said, I'm so glad he's gone. He was an ignorant scary bigoted self righteous creep. The only negative is that his departure from centre stage isn't likely to be permanent

This plus what Hill said, I would rather he had been a father/husband than a politician any day but what those kids n his wife must be going thru canonly be imagined.
That said, he has gone. Thanks to any deity responsible!
I see a few surprises in the near future:)
Gawd help my intent to cut down on inhaling the carnage.

Are you referring to the way the Republican party nominates the top guy who "stepped down for the good of the party," in the previous primary in each successive election? I think that is a myth, otherwise they would have picked McCain in '08 and Romney in '12... oh wait...
Crap, well, we will see what Santorum '16 looks like. Almost makes me want to vote for Romney, since after 8 years of a Democrat as Pres, the people will probably elect any Republican, remember the fiasco they picked after Clinton???

~FR~
Maybe Ron Paul will finally get some coverage, now that his campaign has raised nearly twice as much money as Newt's, and he was first to get on the ballot in all fifty states.

He still has some street cred and may do another counter-convention to Mitt`s.He did after all,start the 1st genuine tea-party movement.

Wouldn`t be surprised to see a Ron Paul for VP.......but that would be the smart thing to do.

Which is Mitt`s biggest problem.
