Yes, the forums are a great place to find info, but munches are where you go to meet people and everything else.
A munch is just a basic meet and greet, so keep going to different munches til you find one that fits.
If you get along with the people, you will be invited to play parties.
Learn and understand proper protocol for a play party, which is not that hard: Be *very* polite, and don't expect anyone to do you any special favors.
Eventually you may be invited to interact with others.
This may sound to you like it could take awhile. Yes, it might. But you are lucky to have choices.
Many people live in areas where the local munch is *it.* And if they don't fit in, they are screwed, since the only other option means long travel distances.
So take advantage of your geography and get yourself to a munch.
