Do you have any idea of how condescending you sound when you post?

And this

What I often say is that the concerns have been hijacked. You should try paying attention to what is on the screen, instead of just replying from a position of blind bigotry.

doesn't?

tweak is hardly on her own as far as the patronising thing goes. In fact, you're no slouch at that one yourself, are you?

On the one hand, hope:
http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/guest-blog/2011/03/16/smaller-cheaper-faster-does-moores-law-apply-to-solar-cells/
(suggests that solar cells might be equal economically with Coal in 2020 and cheaper shortly after).
On the other hand...
There is a lot of carbon in the permafrost, and the permafrost is melting...
It is later than you think...

Seems like reality denialism is a core plank of the Republican platform these days, you guys really need to get yourselves a new party.

Yeah, I absolutely am. That you feel the need to make statements like this doesn't reflect kindly on your party:

Acknowledging Climate Science Doesn’t Make You A Liberal

It's been looking to me more and more like anyone desiring something even remotely akin to reality based legislation should run not walk away from the Republican Party.

While we're on the topic of solar, this might make you feel better.

http://www.geek.com/articles/chips/mit-researchers-are-printing-solar-cells-on-sheets-of-paper-20110713/

"We’re not talking about any fancy paper or fabrics. The MIT researchers discovered the printing process works on just about any paper, from regular printer paper, to tissue paper, and even to already-printed newspaper. However, printing the cells is not as simple. It must be done in a vacuum-tight room where the special “ink” is deposited on the paper. According to an article by MIT’s David L. Chandler, the process is almost as cheap and as easy as printing a photo on your inkjet.

It’s a much easier method than the current one, which needs super high-temperature liquids at several hundred degrees Celsius to create the cells. The new method uses vapors and lower temperatures at less than 120 degrees Celsius. According to Chandler, these “gentle conditions” are what makes it possible to use untreated paper as the substrate."

Hilarious. Life long democrat here. The only repub I ever voted for was Bob Packwood, and that was because he was pro choice. Ah the irony.
I am hardly qualified to comment on climate change, other than my opinion. The OP is quoting from an interview with a meteorologist named Paul Douglas. Sorry that wasn't clear. I am guilty of making an unclear citation, but not of being a fucking repub.

These printed cells have horrible efficiency (1%) but even a modest increase in that could make these cells useful in all sorts of applications.
