You the Child have no idea what we're talking about. You're just babbling. Have you even heard of Goldwater before? Eisenhower reluctantly let The Family hold their Breakfast in the White House, because he felt he owed them his election in part, but it was a terrible precedent. Reagan's embrace of Jerry Falwell was my breaking point, turning me away from independent to Democrat only because they were the only realistic option to slowing that disturbing trend--which has only gotten worse and worse since they sainted Ronnie, along with his failed policies. Government in the 70s did exactly as Goldwater says--they bickered, but then they met, worked out compromises, and the business of government proceeded. Today's uncompromising stance has stopped the process, and the only tool is obstruction.
