http://news.yahoo.com/trayvon-martin-video-shows-no-blood-bruises-george-194108003--abc-news-topstories.html

A police surveillance video taken the night that Trayvon Martin was shot dead shows no blood or bruises on George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain who says he shot Martin after he was punched in the nose, knocked down and had his head slammed into the ground.
The surveillance video, which was obtained exclusively by ABC News, shows Zimmerman arriving in a police cruiser. As he exits the car, his hands are cuffed behind his back. Zimmerman is frisked and then led down a series of hallways, still cuffed.

Zimmerman, 28, is wearing a red and black fleece and his face and head are cleanly shaven. He appears well built, hardly the portly young man depicted in a 2005 mug shot that until a two days ago was the single image the media had of Zimmerman.

Bruising may not have started yet. That is a potential legit explanation. The link I showed pointed out there was no grass on his jacket, which could also be because it was brushed off. There is not blood on his face or back of his head, but Zimmerman got First Aid treatment at the scene...and that would, most likely, have included wiping away much, if not all, the blood to make sure all the injuries were accounted for and that he didn't need to go to the hospital.

However, if Zimmerman's lawyer wasn't lying:
quote:

Zimmerman’s attorney Craig Sonner has told television networks that the neighborhood watch volunteer’s nose was broken and he was left with a gash on the back of his head that would have required stitches had he gone to the doctor in time.

There certainly would have been blood on the back of his head, or, if the EMT's field stitched his head closed, there would have been a dressing applied. At the very least, you should be able to see the solution they use to clean the area prior to stitching (betadine?).

This looks real bad for Zimmerman and the sheriff (and the lawyer). This definitely smacks of a cover up.

Bruising from a broken nose is visible very quickly.

EMT's do NOT do field stitching, they arne't doctors.  Nurses don't do stitches either (unless something has changed there).

IF he had a "gash" in the back of his head and ambulance personnell had even looked at it, they would have put something on the wound.

I notice the attorney hasn't mentioned anything about photographs showing this gash or the broken nose.

Oh yea, and while Zimmerman can THINK his nose is broken, only a doctor is going to be able to confirm that.  So there would be medical reports.

If these injuries existed, his attorney would have been very smart to leak them to the public to help take some heat off his client.  After all, people might be a bit more sympathetic to pictures of a guy looking like someone just kicked the shit out of him.

I got punched in the nose twice and blood went everywhere! M had a gash in his head that did not require stitches and again, blood was everywhere.

Of there was blood alright......plenty of it......Tryvon`s blood.

I`m starting to think this isn`t about "justice" for George so much as it`s concern about this stupid NRA "stand your ground" law and the possibility of it`s repeal.

How Zimmerman`s defenders can ignore the obvious and insert these ridiculous non-facts and hearsay is something that should be answered.

This very well may be the root of the whole problem.  This case is the "poster child" for why the "Stand Your Ground" law is a really, really bad idea.

Sad, truly sad.  I support the concepts of the NRA, but not all of them.  Pathetic that many NRA members are so blinded by the idea that they should be able to tote their guns on their hip, shoot first and ask questions later replaces common sense.

And those NRA members would be who? Personally, I think the law is well-crafted. The complaints I've seen have been from prosecutors arguing that it makes it impossible for them to effectively prosecute gang violence, because in those cases all of the participants have a good reason to believe they're facing imminent death or grave bodily harm, so whoever is left standing gets a walk. But it seems to me that a fairly obvious solution would be to raise the penalties for illegal possession of a weapon. Gangbangers don't as a rule have CCW permits.

Honestly, as laws go, "Stand Your Ground" is extremely poorly crafted.  It may typically be complained about in reference to gang violence, but it also is a rather "new" law, as laws go.  This incident is a prime example of how it easily fails, and will continue to fail.

Perhaps there should be a requirement, similar to the "must view an abortion" law, where folks seeking a gun must watch actual footage of real people being shot to death.

There are a lot of misguided folks who believe guns are problem solvers but they can cause as many problems as they fix.Including accidental killing of a family member or friend. All this public gun play.....means bystanders get hurt or killed.

And they can land you in jail because guns do things that can`t be reversed or made whole again.

While I support gun ownership, the other side of it,the responsibility and caution side of gun ownership needs to be included.

I don't see how it has failed here. The law's applicability turns on whether or not Zimmerman had any basis for a reasonable belief that his action was necessary to prevent imminent death or grave boldily harm. Given the tapes just released, it seems fairly obvious that he isn't going to able to support a "stand your ground" defense.

Is there a chance that this 1 in a trillion "story" of how is was George that was the "real" victim is true?

Sure.

But you`ve shown us NOTHING but rumors and planted stories to support the fairytales.

Most people aren`t claiming to know what happened, just reacting to the ridiculous laughable spoutings by George`s defenders.

So please hold the fake outrage about people seeing and hearing ducks and thinking ducks.

Back off. All I said was there were possibilities. I even brought up the putting "something on the wound" thing.

I'm fairly convinced (but I do reserve final judgment to the judge/jury who get to hear everything) Zimmerman is guilty. I'd just rather see our justice system make that decision instead of the media.

Let's take Zimmerman at his word for what happened.

He was attacked from behind after confronting Martin and deciding to walk away.
He was punched in the nose, breaking it.
He was forced to the ground.
Martin climbed on top of him.
Martin began bashing Zimmerman's skull into the concrete underneath him.
Zimmerman fearing for his life pulled his weapon and shot Martin.

Notice the last 3 items. How precisely did Zimmerman pull his weapon out of his waist band and shoot Martin, in the chest, while Martin was on top of him with his hands on the man's head? Either Martin's legs were between Zimmerman's hands and his waist or his hands were trapped under the young man's legs. Where is all the blood that would have sprayed all over Zimmerman if he shot Martin at point blank range while pinned under him?

Even if a confrontation occured it seems clear that it ended far differently than Zimmerman claims.

Indeed.

No sign of blood in the police station video; no good reason why the police or anyone else would have mopped it off before Zimmerman arrived at the police station. That, for me, is the most jarring thing about the story.
