DaddySatyr -> May The Road Rise to Meet You ... (3/17/2012 12:21:32 AM)

I just want to wish everyone a very safe and happy St. Patrick's Day and to provide kind of a "service" while imparting my good wishes.

As I sit down for my ritual 24 oz. steak and heap of potatoes (I don't eat corned beef or cabbage) with a nice, cold mug of green beer and a bit o' the bitters, I will be thinking of some of you when I say:

"May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face
and may the rains fall soft, upon your fields
and, until we meet again, may God keep you in the palm of His hand! Slanté!"

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Doesn't the Irish Blessing also say
" May the Good Lord turn the hearts of any that would wish you ill. And, if their hearts will not be turned, may he turn their ankles so that you may know them by their gait. " ?

I never heard it that way but, you could be right.

I have another (shorter):

"May ye be in heaven a half an hour before the devil knows ye'r dead"

Peace and comfort,

Michael

I think this one fits you Michael, so it is the one I am leaving you...

Maireann croí éadrom i bhfad.

This roughly translate to mean that a light heart lives the longest.

Remember to laugh today, or the leprechauns will get you.

*raising a Harps in toast*

Dance as if no one were watching.
Sing as if no one were listening.
And live each day as if it were your last.

Hmmm... This brings to mind the obvious and snide remark that if you drink enough of that green beer, the road will in fact rise up to meet you - but I won't.

Thank you for the blessing, Michael.

You have to love this global climate change. 75 degrees here in the suburbs of Milwaukee. On our way to an Irish bar with live music in the tent. The best part. 3/4 of a mile from our house. We can walk and get home safely. Happy St. Pats ...

I am not celebrating but happy Saint PAtrick's day to everyone!

Maybe I can sweet talk Bo into getting some massive steaks to cook on the grill.

I lift my glass of Black & Tan in salute and thanks!
