a bit left field I know, came across a free program called tin eye, it searches pictures, I was very surprised to find in new zealand more than a few using photo's from usa websites and europe and saying it was them....hell I know it's the net but lol
made it a bit easier to work out who to chat to for sure

well I must admit I wasn't quite sure what section to post it in....but after I spent 3 months chatting to a lady online building what I thought was common ground, sharing laughter know how and all that is good..
was very surprised to find the 7 or so pics on her profile where certainly not her.. Isn't honesty and openness the cornerstone of bdsm ?

Honesty and openness are the cornerstone of a lot of things. Lots of people don't build to code though.

tin eye works, but you have to know with a free site (cm), comes 90% bullshit and 10% genuine

My ex (ChristyCougar) just told me this story yesterday.

She joined some dating site and hooked up for a lunch meet with some local guy. During lunch this guy mentions that he already knew her from a site called Tag. He has known her and been corresponding for a year. He was very hurt that she didn't send him a birthday card, but he was glad he finally found her on that dating site. Christy isn't a member of Tag, nor did she even know what the hell it was. But apparently this guy hunted her down (maybe tin eye) and contacted her on the dating site.

. . . as it turns out, someone Christy dated had copied her pics and started a web profile on Tag with them. Apparently he has been carrying on correspondences and using her modeling photos in some online thing called Tag.

I think it's hilarious. If I don't talk with someone on the phone after the first correspondences, I just don't bother with them... no matter whether my intentions are just casual or I plan to date them. Hell, even several of the mods at this web site know the sound of my voice and phone number. It's just a matter of convenience. I just don;t see how you can communicate by text with someone for a year... that shit cracks me up.

Anyway, fake pics... yup, the net is chock full of them.

I've talked to a lot of people that are very leery of giving out their phone numbers and such, but I am inclined to meet or talk pretty quickly. And justifiably so---I mean, that isn't even MY flower on my profile!! I wouldn't even know that kind of hibiscus existed if it weren't for some guy in Miami who sent me pictures of his.

Also run pics through Google.

Just FYI, this does not work for sites that does not index pictures, such as facebook and fetlife.

If the pictures look too good to be true, they probably are.

Primitive, at the moment, but neat. It is only recently out of Beta at the moment. There's a lot of work left into building their DB left to go though. It also doesn't do facial recognition yet apparently. However I'm sure that's planned for the future.

This is an incentive to make sure that you don't use your picture in more than one place if you don't want two locations and your named tied together. Like at a bondage website.
