It's simple. A week ago, the White House had screwed things up so badly that the GOP had a golden issue handed to them. They cast it as the government forcing companies to implement health care policies that conflicted with the management's religion. The White House unaccountably missed casting it as management forcing their religious beliefs on their employees.

The GOP had five experts testify. None of the experts had ever had a period or been pregnant or personally used any BC methods except condoms and abstinence. They excluded women altogether. STILL the GOP had the upper hand.

Then Limbaugh stepped in. In three short days, he had destroyed the issue the GOP had in their hands. He made the GOP look anti-woman and showed Romney with a spine of Jello. So who will they blame?

They can't blame Rush. That's heresy in the GOP.
They can't blame themselves. That'd be admitting a mistake.
They can't blame Fluke. A 30 year old student, female at that, making the GOP look like idiots?

No, they needed to blame a sinister clandestine Democratic plot at the highest levels.

This plus no matter which party is in charge we(voters, taxpayers)
are headed for 3rd world status. Wake up it's time to kick them all
out. I have been eligible to vote for fourty years an have watched
the candidates get worse and worse.

I have never thought this.

mnottertail -> RE: Just when you thought Faux news could not get crazier (3/8/2012 10:25:49 AM)

Seems like a great portion of the people solicited were blindsided by such a notion.

Please acquaint yourself with what the term third world means.
It is not a euphimism for poor.

Moonhead -> RE: Just when you thought Faux news could not get crazier (3/8/2012 12:05:30 PM)

The fact that the term's been obsolete since the soviet union ceased to exist doesn't seem to have stopped anybody from misprisioning it, sadly.

Third world still means "non aligned" nations.

Moonhead -> RE: Just when you thought Faux news could not get crazier (3/8/2012 12:24:51 PM)

So who's the second party to the western world now, then? There's a good half dozen to choose from...

Same gangs are still at large. The capitalist and the socialist.

Moonhead -> RE: Just when you thought Faux news could not get crazier (3/8/2012 12:40:43 PM)

Really? So which country covering most of Eurasia and a fair chunk of eastern Europe are the socialists running, these days?

Despite the mascara and eyeliner and lipstick russia is still socialist. The former russian satellites have varrying degrees of socialism.
It is also alive and well in china and n.korea.
The conflict between the capitalist and the socialist is still alive and well with the socialist seeming to gain a bit here and there and the capitalist using military force or the threat there of to hold it's market share.
Same shit different flies.

DaddySatyr -> RE: Just when you thought Faux news could not get crazier (3/8/2012 2:35:54 PM)

Aren't Spain, France and Italy still under socialists, also? Sorry. I don't keep up with world politics.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Yes you are right but your post seem to indicate that you do keep up on the world of politics.

Edwynn -> RE: Just when you thought Faux news could not get crazier (3/8/2012 3:44:46 PM)

The ones in Spain just got voted out in November. In any case every continental country would be considered socialist by estimation of rightward pundits in the US, free or nominal cost higher education and universal health care being the dead giveaway there.

Not my point.
The Soviet Union was the second world. That no longer exists (having splintered into a variety of smaller countries, few of which are terribly socialist even in theory anymore, but that's a whole other argument). With that gone, the term "third world" is redundant, however many commies are still lurking in the wilderness outside of the free world, as the soviet union was the second world, and there's no longer any such animal.

I really don't and I'm not proud to say that; I just don't have the time. I promise it was a lucky guess.

They surprise you.  Fluke is now apparently a White House plant.

Ya, on another thread we were discussing a scurrilous article in The Blaze that made that insinuation.

Best possible witness ever? Yes

Plant? Pfft.

Are the Democrats making political hay from the Republican's War on Women? Sure, why not?

Top 10 Shocking Attacks from the GOP's War on Women

[Early 2011]

1) Republicans not only want to reduce women's access to abortion care, they're actually trying to redefine rape. After a major backlash, they promised to stop. But they haven't yet. Shocker.

2) A state legislator in Georgia wants to change the legal term for victims of rape, stalking, and domestic violence to "accuser." But victims of other less gendered crimes, like burglary, would remain "victims."

3) In South Dakota, Republicans proposed a bill that could make it legal to murder a doctor who provides abortion care. (Yep, for real.)

4) Republicans want to cut nearly a billion dollars of food and other aid to low-income pregnant women, mothers, babies, and kids.

5) In Congress, Republicans have a bill that would let hospitals allow a woman to die rather than perform an abortion necessary to save her life.

6) Maryland Republicans ended all county money for a low-income kids' preschool program. Why? No need, they said. Women should really be home with the kids, not out working.

7) And at the federal level, Republicans want to cut that same program, Head Start, by $1 billion. That means over 200,000 kids could lose their spots in preschool.

8) Two-thirds of the elderly poor are women, and Republicans are taking aim at them too. A spending bill would cut funding for employment services, meals, and housing for senior citizens.

9) Congress just voted for a Republican amendment to cut all federal funding from Planned Parenthood health centers, one of the most trusted providers of basic health care and family planning in our country.

10) And if that wasn't enough, Republicans are pushing to eliminate all funds for the only federal family planning program. (For humans. But Republican Dan Burton has a bill to provide contraception for wild horses. You can't make this stuff up).

You forgot that two state legislatures wanted to force a woman who gets an abortion to first have an ultrasound device shoved up their vagina. Only one state has dropped the issue, the other state is still working on it!
