hlen5 -> Help! No PC Audio!! (3/7/2012 2:55:51 PM)

The speakers are plugged into the outlet, to each other and to the PC. The PC doesn't recognize them. I've tried (and tried!!) trouble shooting. Please help! PC is otherwise working.

1-right click on the speaker "LOGO" near the clock & see if there is mute there?
2- restart your system.
get back to me.

CRYPTICLXVI -> RE: Help! No PC Audio!! (3/7/2012 2:59:28 PM)

Find the driver for your speakers, download it, and try again...

I am unfamiliar with win7 but somewhere in your control panal should be "adjust sound properties" or something similar. Make sure the speakers are enabled, there (it's different than "mute")

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Okay, looking at it a little more, haven't had this problem in years. Your sound card controls the sound through your speakers, make certain that you have the proper sound card driver installed. Go to My Computer, View System Information and Under Hardware device manager there under sound you should find the info for your sound card (or the equivalent for your OS). Now take that info and look for the sound driver (I suggest C/Net). That might help.

this was from the silent helper of the Forums sent to me by a secret santa :P

outhere69 -> RE: Help! No PC Audio!! (3/7/2012 4:36:10 PM)

In the audio system screen capture (the one with all the sliders) from ashjor, the master volume is almost all the way down. If it's from poise's machine, crank 'er up and see if that helps.

ashjor911 -> RE: Help! No PC Audio!! (3/7/2012 4:49:28 PM)

that was my laptop, & its always hocked to 2.1 cerative which is always on 10,
its easier to controle volume from there. its just one click away [8D]

PS: it was helen5, unless Poise is all you can think about right now .... hehehehehehe[:D]

Is this a computer that is new to you?

Have you tried plugging in headphones?

I have A PC and (I think the sound card had been replaced) but I had no sound either.

With headphones I had to play around plugging things into the various ports in the back because the front jack didn't work at all.

Can you hear me now?
Sorry, but I always wanted to type that!

It looks like you are in good hands here, and I'm sure you'll have it solved soon.

DarkSteven -> RE: Help! No PC Audio!! (3/7/2012 5:55:55 PM)

It could be

the speakers,
the sound card (or motherboard if the sound card is integrated onto it,
the driver, or
the settings.

I know the answer to this one Hlen......

(And I've researched your dilemma quite carefully).

Your computer's fucked up.

(I'm here M-F).

Oops. If the computer doesn't recognize the speakers, it's not the settings.

Are you sure they're plugged in properly?

MalcolmNathaniel -> RE: Help! No PC Audio!! (3/7/2012 9:54:03 PM)

Need more information to answer the question:

What operating system are you running?
What brand/model computer do you have?
What brand of speakers do you have?

Hippiekinkster -> RE: Help! No PC Audio!! (3/7/2012 11:34:21 PM)

You probably need to put in another quarter.
