FromVelvetEdge -> Hello...looking for other littles/subs who've just lost their person (3/5/2012 12:49:06 AM)

I am going through a break up...he was my Daddy. This is extremely painful, and while my "vanilla" friends have been very helpful, they sometimes don't quite understand what it means to lose someone like this. It's more than just a break up. He was my Daddy. I used to think of him when I had trouble falling asleep, and now I can't sleep, and it's painful to think of him. Night is the worst...during the day I am usually all right. I am mostly interested in speaking with other people who know what this pain is life so I don't feel so alone. Thanks for reading.

My sympathies. I hope that your little finds a good Daddy soon.

You are not alone, Velvet...

And you are doing a good thing by talking about it with O/others. I found a lot of comfort in doing so when my Master released me. I did not call Him "Daddy" (because I have daddy issues), but yes, He was very Fatherly and that is something which I need, as well.

So many people in "the lifestyle" were kind enough to listen to my tale of woe, and that helped. Their best advice was, that "you will feel better as time passes." It has been three years, and although I still miss Master, unless I dwell on thoughts of Him (He is always on my mind), I finally feel "less lost". It probably would not have taken so long if I could have followed their other bit of advice and "found" another Master. But that is how I am wired--I'm a "one man woman" and a "one Master slave". Then, again, perhaps I might have been more inclined to seek another Master if I were younger.

But you are younger, and you probably should do that, seek another Daddy. At any rate...give yourself a little time to sort your heart and mind out...discover what you really want...take care of yourself--eat correctly for your body type, drink plenty of water, get some fresh air, sunshine, and exercise...that may help you to sleep better.

Thinking of you...holding you in my heart and hoping the best for you. You are stronger than you know...

Morning,
Welcome.

Hard going huh? Keep moving forward, you'll soon find another, then wonder what all the fuss was about!

Been there. It's a cliche but it does get better with time.

BUT!  Don't "find another" too fast!

You are the ONLY one who knows when it is time to move on.  There will ALWAYS be a scar (and next to it a very soft, very tender place) in your heart.  You can't ever get rid of those, so don't try.

Just take time to treat yourself well and have the occasional good cry.

Everyone has been so so helpful - thank you so much. It means the world to me.

I am doing better and doing what I can to take care of myself. Like I said, night time is the hardest, but, at the advice of a friend, I picked up some melatonin to help me sleep. I'm hoping that will help me get things back on track. My sleep schedule has been totally ruined and it's been making it hard to get through the days and be productive. Here's hoping.

Thanks again, you guys are great.
